Mountain Life!
Mountain Life! is a collection of ideas to make extreme hills better. It is the fourth in the series.
Also available:
Ocean Life!
Desert Life!
Jungle Life!
Mobs:
Mountain Goat
Mountain Goats spawn in the extreme hills biome. They spawn in packs of 3-5. They are neutral mobs. They can jump two blocks high. They speed up and down the mountains very fast. They can be milked to get milk. It is the same as cow milk. When killed they drop 1-3 Goat Meat. They have 5 hearts.
Eagle
Eagles spawn in extreme hills biome. They fly to move. They fly 20-50 blocks above the ground. They are neutral and will attack you if you hold any meat or fish. When killed they drop 1-5 feathers. They have 3 hearts.
Terrains:
Waterfall
Waterfalls generate on the top and sides of extreme hills from lakes and rivers. They are 3-7 blocks wide.
Mountain
Mountains are roundish tall hills. The tops go to the clouds. The tops also have snow on the top.
Volcano
Volcanoes are like mountains, but shorter and the top is not there. Instead there is a big hole with lava is inside. They do not erupt.
Structures:
Mountain Temples
Mountain Temples generate on mountains and rarely volcanoes. They are made stone bricks. They are rather like strongholds, but without the End Portal, smaller, and not as far underground. There are chests inside.
I think we should actually get mountains before we get this. All we have now are foothills. good ideas, though
Not all are foot hills if u explore there are some mountains out there but the more annoying ones to climb i call them plateaus and the plateaus are somewhat flat on the top.
Mountains should be as tall as they can possibly be, and be made out of solid stone. There should be almost zero dirt on the peak. Snow on the peak would be good.
Mountains biomes would come in two basic shapes. Mountain ranges are formed when two tectonic plates move together, so the first kind of mountain biome should be a large area of many mountains shaped sort of like a stripe across a continent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:RockyMountainsLocatorMap.png

The other kind of mountain biome would be a single, randomly placed cone shaped mountain. These are stratovolcanoes, also known as compositvolcanoes. Classic examples would be Mount Fiji http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:FujiSunriseKawaguchiko2025WP.jpg, Mount Rainier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Rainier, and Mount Kilimanjaro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Kilimanjaro
