It occured to me that TNT was the only use for gunpowder in the game, however, TNT does not have much of a use, sure, you can make traps and TNT cannons, but to some people like me the traps only get activated once in a while and aren't that useful while TNT cannons are a good defense system but create holes that are an eyesore. Also TNT should be given the chance to set fires and bombs should be able to travel long distances depending on how far the cannons could shoot.
So I created:
1) Fire Bomb:
This can be crafted by:
The fire is a fire charge.
The bomb would look like a grayish block that has the words FIRE BOMB on the sides, it would have a little red sphere on the top. It would behave exactly like a tnt and would have a explosion of 0.6 x ghast fireball, however, people within a sphere centered at the bomb of diameter 9 blocks would receive 1.5 hearts of damage due to the flying cobble(although you won't see it) and 1/3 of the air blocks around that sphere would catch fire, making it a firebomb. This bomb is useful in TNT cannons as it does not destroy much of the landscape but can due much damage to mobs(as they do not avoid fires).
2) TNT Fire Bomb:
It would be crafted like:
The fire is one again, a fire charge.
This is a slightly overpowered, but maybe this would look like a normaly TNT except it has shiny metal ingots at certain parts and red colour spots here and there, and the words would be TNT Fire Bomb instead of just TNT. It would have an explosion about 1.1 times the normal TNT and besides that it can also set fire to the area.
3) Bombs that explode on impact. This bombs would be crafted by placing any bomb on a crafting table and putting a stone pressure plate below. This bombs when place would be an entity that nvr disappears, and when it hit the ground after travelling more than 14 blocks(be it falling or shooting through a cannon), it will explode immediately, with the effect of the type of explosive used to craft the bomb. Setting fire to it or powering it with redstone will also make it explode immediately.
Maybe it could be solved if there would be a server option where certain items could only be obtained by certain people listed down, maybe ops, so that servers could be better controlled?
Or just make it so that the world have no griefers, but srsly, what is the point in griefing? it isn't even that fun.
