My suggestion is so animals don't drop experince. What I think is that when you kill a sheep or cow, you shouldn't get experince because they don't attack back, they just run. It's a bit weird to get rewarded to a fight you alreay know who will win. Even though I like playing in peaceful mode, I just don't think killing an animal that doesn't hurt you in any way is fair. So I hope this gets implemented into the game.

well, i dono, it is a little difficult to kill them because they run, but they also dont attack, well, i think they should drop a vary little amount of xp

Yeah. Sometimes you are hunting rather than slaughtering your farm animals. If you think about it, it's kind of like honing your skills on a punching bag--trying to get that perfect cut, or trying to shoot the eye rather than the head.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
I agree. People also always kill the animals I'm breeding if they want a little XP. Animals spawn really rarely, and killing for XP quickly makes them go extinct in large areas.

It doesn't matter where you shoot it. Animals can be killed very easily with a cheap sword. You shouldn't get XP from that; you should have to fight for XP.
In many, many, many many many manymany... Many games you'll get XP from chopping trees, or defeating dummies that neither move nor attack. How is getting XP for killing passive Minecraft animals any different from those?

Because this is Minecraft, where chopping trees and mining and even finding diamond does not give you XP. It's important to focus on making the game exciting, not just like other games.

It isn't like other games. But that isn't even the point.
Making things reminiscent to other games doesn't make it any less exciting. Notch himself said Minecraft was meant to be a copy of a game I can't remember the title of.
We aren't talking about mining or chopping giving XP here, I only used them as examples for other games because they are not the primary focus of those games. Minecraft's primary focus is chopping and mining, therefore those activities do not give you XP. Understand?

Okay then.. Well, I've seen a lot of good points here. But I don't know. The animals either should run away from you like, for a longer time. Just so at least you will get the experince, but it's not easy to kill them.

Just assume it's "life force" or something like that.
