So, currents act sorta like flowing water, but they are only created in rivers. The computer will recognize a river, a beginning point of the river and then add currents that originate at the beginning point and flow through. The water would look almost like still water, with some SLIGHT changes to make it look moving.
i dont like this..it gives too many more chances to confuse the game causeing strange flowing water or being confused what way to flow....say there should be a waterfall but it happens to be on the wrong side of the curent making the watter climb the wall instead of fall..or what happens when you take a bucket of that water..? or when you start digging the shore line? or what if you you put a bucket of water flowing the "wrong way" what happens?
Just an idea.
You can already do that, it's just not very efficent.
I support. It should be able to push objects, speed and slow down boats, and affect players as well.

Just as long as you can't place them in anything except creative.

Not even creative. The only way to get them would probably be TMI.

No it wouldn't, just an aesthetic addition to make source blocks in rivers look like they're flowing slowly.
Sounds cool, but waterfalls are only close to mountain springs.
Actully, I meant for it to be actually flowing water. Sorry if you misunderstood...
BUT
Just the asthetic version could be added in the meantime!
Ikr..
