Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the forums, but I've played minecraft for quite a while. In many other games, there are mod systems where you download a zip of the mod, drag, then drop into a mod folder, and it executes it when the game starts. One of the first thing I noticed about minecraft when I started playing it is that you had to get a third party software, in windows, to use the mods, IE, putting them into the folder. Well, for me, it's not very annoying since I can do it so quickly with 7-zip, but, if they were to put in a mod system like that, then the minecraft game, instead of getting sad and crashing, could detect a problem with the mod, and just not execute it. Is this a good idea, will it take too long, or is it not worth it with JavaScript and whatnot?
Ok, just for a simple list of benefits, and the lazy people who don't Ike to read like me.
-Your minecraft doesn't crash when installing a faulty mod, the mod just won't execute.
-Much easier to install mods
-Bigger variety of mods due to being that small bit easier.
And list of suggestions for this suggestion.
- It should have to be a certain file name format (EX Server_Supermod)
- In that certain file should be a file alike for all mods that is used to execute the mods. (EX Main.cs)
Please, if you support, 1-up this.
Uhh... Like said above, this is actually the next thing Mojang are supposed to be working on. Don't expect it to be implemented fully yet, but I think it should be done by 1.4, at least.

Ok there is a program that will tell you if there is a problem conflicting the mods and will tell you and then you have a choice to continue or not continue.
The name of the program is called MCPatcher, and what it does is very simple, it patch you minecraft to run hd textures but also has a feature built into it to add mods.
It is very easy to use and all you do is add mods, check the ones you want at that moment and click patch!

The point of this is to neutralize the need of something like this, download the game, paste the mod, hurrah.
