This thread is an add-on to the basic idea of AnontheMouse.
This thread, however, focuses on not the damage or weapons, but the mobs.
Think of the Creeper. The Creeper now has the ability to hold its attention on you for very long periods of time, and just when you've forgot about it, it ambushes you the minute you go towards it again.
I want to apply this theme to all other mobs.
Zombies : Zombies are known for being stupid but physically able creatures. Recently they were given better walking and jumping abilities. For my addition zombies shall take no knockback, signifying their brute strength.
Zombie Pigmen : Zombie Pigmen are sort of like "tribe" zombies that attack as a whole. However, this causes them a huge weakness: Huge amounts of them can be tricked into falling into traps or off ledges at the same time. For my addition: Give every pigman pack a leader who is much smarter than the rest. If the leader decides to stop moving, eg a cliff is nearby, the rest of the pack will halt.
Creepers : Creepers are known for being sneaky but deadly. I suggest they add a new way for the Creeper to "scare" an Ocelot away. If the amount of creepers within 8 blocks outnumbers the amount of ocelots, they will all "SSSSSS" at the same time, and the ocelots will run away. This makes them seem to understand that they don't have to be afraid when grouped.
Spiders : Spiders are very mobile and fast, able to poison you, but with a small amount of health they keep for themselves. My new addition: Spiders can place Webs right below you, slowing you down. They now show much more "spider-like" activity, as they can now trap things.
Enderman : Enderman are known to teleport and carry blocks. They took a gigantic nerf recently, and I am extremely frustrated by this. Endermen can now carry all their former blocks, but killing them will drop the block they stole. Thats how Notch should have fixed it.
Skeletons: Skeletons are known for their ranged abilities, and are smart, able to find shelter during the day. My new addition: Skeletons now have the ability to
Slimes : Slimes don't do much rather than push you around. Slimes should now have the ability to latch onto the player and drown them. Lol, Aether much?
Magma Slimes : Magma slimes are pretty much like Earth slimes. Magma Slimes should now ignite the player on contact
Ghast : Ghasts fly freely, launching destructive explosions at players from up to 100 blocks away without fear of taking damage. Ghasts should now have the ability to come down to ground level and blow themselves up much like a Creeper, except this time dealing Lightning Creeper damage. Nether is supposed to be a challenge, right?
Blaze : Blazes fly freely and launch cluster of fire at their prey. Blazes should now have the ability to blind the player with a thick smoke overlay on your screen. Keep in mind, this smoke is not rendered in 3D, so you take almost no lag. It's only an overlay- like the nether portal effects.
It is an interesting but depressing reality that most politicians are just regular people with power. And most people would be as bad as politicians if only they could get some power.
Dude, do you want minecraft to be the hardest game ever? I think mobs are very good now, no changes that make a new players first few nights impossible to survive!

Brah, there's difficulty for a reason. Also, these are actually some needed changes and while I admit some should only be on normal, hard, and hardcore, people just ain't scardy-cats all the time.
Y'know, I used to be softer then putty. Sight of a Zombie? Switch ta peaceful. After while though, you get used to them, start actually huntin some of the monstas.
Now, if you'll excuse mah southern accen', I'mma grab mah bow and shoot dem scumbag skeles in tah eye.

Neat ideas, some of them do make a lot of sense, like the zombie knockback concept. I'm not too fond of the Ghasts exploding though, I think they're hard enough as it is. Maybe some of these mob responses can only be enabled on Hard Difficulty?

ANd that's all I got for now.
Now the world will never know.
