Maybe add a shield of some sort where, like in adventure craft, protects you from arrows, maybe add so it can deflect sword attacks aswell. Clans could make shield walls with it which would look really cool in my opinion. Let me know what you guys think.

You can already deflect some damage whilst right clicking with a sword, and until duel wielding is available, it won't make sense to have a shield take up inventory space like that. If the shield will deflect damage that well, it should at least have some draw-backs, like it should make the player move slower when it is raised (just as the sword does now). This way it won't over power the player to walk around with a shield, taking little to no damage from attacks.

People can always attack from behind. Still, I agree, it needs to slow you down and/or not cover the whole front of your player.
I just want shields to be used when right-clicking with a sword. Parrying is completely useless.
