This is a good idea... Except for the Auto-Lumbering when cutting Wood. Wood has quite a relaxing texture and is nice to make houses out of, and especially useful for making hidden entrances inside Jungle Trees.

Well, you don't necessarily have to use the same axe for everything

Good point... But Lumbering is different to Smelting and Pigmenation. Pigmentation and Smelting are basically the whole point in thier ingredients, whereas Wood has uses of it's own.

It will have to go through intense nerfing before it is put in the game though,
Actually, it's kind of useless as-is. What's it really doing for me? Saving me a little bit of coal? Saving me the couple of seconds that it would take to put a stack of wood in the crafting square and shift-click it? It's certainly not worth spending levels to enchant.
I think logs should be turned into charcoal, seeing how it looks like its all just skipping the furnace phaze. Cobble would drop smoothstone (smoothstone would still drop cobble, because you cant smelt smoothstone?), clay will drop bricks (or brick blocks?), sand will drop glass, etc.

It only has one level.
It simply makes Ore blocks drop Ingots when mining,
Logs drop 4 plank blocks
Cactus drop as Green Dye
Things like that.

Thats where you guys come in.
I want you to come up with reasonable nerfing for this thing.
For example, make Instant Process block off the Fortune enchantment.
