This has probably already been suggested several times, but perhaps suggesting it more will increase its importancy.
One thing they should really add to the game (in my opinion they should have added it a while ago) is the ability to switch a world's game mode after it has already been created.
Now, this will have pros and cons.
Pros:
It would make making maps for others to download MUCH easier.
People could create amazing things in their world a lot faster.
After having created something in creative mode, you could switch it to survival and (depending on what you created) try to survive/ fight monsters/ complete certain challenges in what you just created.
Cons:
People could easily "cheat" when trying to survive.
People would be able to easily "cheat" their way through certain points in downloaded maps.
It would take the fun out of Minecraft if people abused it.
I had the idea after my cousin told me he was making a really cool Enderman statue in Minecraft that would have a kind of adventure story-line to go with it, that he wanted to release publicly. He then told me he was making it in creative so it would get done faster. Obviously he had forgotten (or never knew) that you couldn't switch game modes, and I had to sadly remind him of this fact. He flipped out and got angry because all of his work had basically gone to waste because he needed it in survival when he released it.
Adding this feature would make Minecraft player's live's easier, and certain things would get done faster. That's why I think they should add this.
Wait, how had your cousin's work gone to waste because you can't switch game modes? That doesn't make any sense. Plus it allows you to cheat. Perhaps you could only switch in worlds you started in creative mode, but I still see no point.
It is an interesting but depressing reality that most politicians are just regular people with power. And most people would be as bad as politicians if only they could get some power.
maybe an option in creative mode in which you can turn it into survival, but not change it back into creative (which would imply at least 2 warnings before makign the switch)
Whoops. I forgot to mention that my cousin's Enderman statue thing was also going to have challenges where you need to be in survival mode. Yeah, that's a pretty big thing to forget, but I was thinking about other things at the time and I forgot about that crucial element. My bad.
Actually, I think the idea of only being able to switch modes in creative would be better than both ways. Good thinking.
The ability to switch game modes (only from creative to survival) would be nice because if you were to make a world in creative that looks like it would be fun to survive in you could just switch modes right then.
