The Cauldron can be used to "enchant" food in different ways by making it into Stew.
How this works:
Fill the Cauldron with Water
Right click the Cauldron with a food item and the color of the water will resemble the food.
From here, it can be extracted with a Bowl to make stew. The Stew will not be any different from the original food item, but we can change it by using the Cauldron some more.
Each full Cauldron will fill 3 bowls.
If we keep the Stew inside the Cauldron still, we can right click it with various ingredients to change it.
The ingredients effects on the Stew itself work much like Potion ingredients.
The New stew will have a Purple name and the effects listed below.
For instance:
Chicken Stew
Filling I
Saturation II
when Brewed with an Egg:
Chicken Stew
Filling II
Saturation I
Here's how different Ingredients affect the Stew:
Egg- More Hunger restored, less Saturation (how long it takes for you to get Hungry again)
Wheat- Less Hunger restored, More Saturation
Apple- Less hearts restored when Hunger is full, but less hearts lost when Empty
Cocoa Beans- Restores Hearts instead of Hunger (Might be a little OP, help me with this one)
Sugar- Removes all Food Poisoning chance from food
Golden Apple- More hearts gained when full.
Fermented Spider Eye- Nether Portal like Swirly effects
So heres how a fully brewed Stew might look:
Chicken Stew
Unrotten I
Filling II
Saturation I
Anyone agree with this? Partially? Not at all?
Say so. If partially, help me refine the idea, please
Good idea, I hate it how we have to waste iron just to build a cauldron, and then it's only use to fill up bottles.
Here are some suggestions.
Sugar allows you to sprint faster.
Blaze powder reduces fire damage.
Ghast tear makes you jump 2 blocks.
Ender pearl allows you to teleport with ennder pearls without taking damage, but you get damage by water.
Nether wart allows you to sprint faster in the nether, but has a 30% chance of poisoning you.
Good idea. Cauldron needs some sort of use, at the moment it's more efficient to have a hole in the ground with water in it for filling potions.

The furnace could be used for foods that are normally grilled, while the cauldron could be used for foods that are liquid-based or cooked by boiling.
I like the idea of using additional ingredients in order to alter a food's properties. Perhaps herb and spice plants could be added to the game in order to not only provide more farming options, but also to alter the effects of food.
What happened to the other topic for this? Just saying, because an idea will tend to look less popular if you remake it and lose all the people who liked it the first time. That's why it's usually better to just make some tweaks to the first post and then post an update saying, "Hey. Made updates to the first post. Tell me what you think."
