I thought there was already a topic for this, but since I couldn't find it, here it is. =)
When you going to create a new world, you can use the More World Options... button to select between defaut or super flat type, right?
So, how about worlds made by just one biome, like the old versions? And you can choose what biome will be.
Desert worlds will have oasis, small areas with a pond, grass and trees.
Another one that would be literally, a "Minecraft". The world will be filled to the top with blocks, except for a few random hole areas that allow daylight, rare trees, creatures and occasionally water pockets. The initial spawn will be always on the bottom of one of these holes. The very top of the world will be filled with transparent blocks only to work as a barrier to avoid any entity to walk or spawn "on the top of the world". It might be necessary to make the player start with, at least, a pickaxe to help to find other holes.
The point of this world is to force the player to live underground and change the gameplay, since some common resources will be more difficult to obtain.
Floating lands. I think everyone had already a idea of what will be. No bedrocks, the world will be divided into floating islands (maybe generated by exaggerating the code that creates ravines). Falling into the nothingness is instant death.
Islands. That means, more water filling the world. =)
This, of course, only affects the normal word. Nether and The End remains the same.
