Have an option in the client that could toggle auto equip tools/weapons.
Example: If you are using a pickax and it wears out but you have another one in your inventory, it is automatically equipped.
Same idea could be used for bricks or mushroom soup or other health items. perhaps have separate options, each toggled individually for Tools, Weapons, Bricks, and Health items.
some people may want their tools to be auto but not bricks or weapons.
It's true, but other items (think of health items when survival goes multiplayer) don't last so long. This kind of thing could be invaluable. no one wants to open their inventory to move their bowls around in the middle of a battle. :wink.gif:

And that's why you put everything you'll need easy access to on the quick-access bar. And there should be no consumption of soup in the middle of a duel. That makes no sense and is frustrating for the other person.
not all battles are simple 1v1 duels you know, and when the things that you have in your quickbar run out and are used up, then it would be nice if the game realized you have extra's in your inventory and automatically equipped them for you, so you don't have to go into your inventory and stop whatever it is you're trying to do.

If that were the case, then whoever has the most weapons and food in their inventory wins. It strips battles of any strategy. Battle strategy comes from thinking ahead as to what to equip in your quick-bar; when that runs out, there's one good strategy to use: retreat! If possible, run a short distance away, re-equip from your inventory, then jump back into battle. If it's more than a one-on-one battle, it's even better as you can have your allies hold off the enemy for a moment while you re-equip.
I'm hoping later different types of weapons will be better or worse on different types of armors so battles will heavily be decided on you knowing your enemy and knowing what to bring.

I see your point, I still think it would be a nice feature, even if it only appeared in non-pvp versions.
in Coop survival (not that there is such a thing except in my imagination) however it would also be good. when the horde of spiders comes down upon you, one does not have time to open an inventory! :tongue.gif:
