I was sitting in my tower the other day, above the clouds, observing all of the little piggies migrating south west, when I was surprised to see rain pattering on my roof.
Obviously, rain comes from Clouds, and there were no Clouds above me.
Since the border between the upper chunk and lower chunk is AT the cloud level, this would be an extremely quick fix. Simply disable weather in the upper chunks.
If this isn't possible with Javascript, how about we say weather isn't possible above layer 128.
Either way, it would be nice if this was fixed.
I built my home above the clouds because I was sick and tired of the noise pollution of rain.
Yeah, rain is extremely annoying. I personally just use TMI's weather feature to turn rain off the instant it starts. Rain is only really useful if you are in a roofed-in quarry, because then Endermen will teleport down to you.

Funny story, I was just making an account so I could come on and suggest this feature myself. I figure it is simple enough there aren't many reasons not to add it, from where I metaphorically stand. Nice surprise to see it as the first topic on the thread list.

This makes perfect sense.
