I'm really sick of people chopping only part of a tree because they can't reach every piece of wood, then it sits there floating. I also hate it when I'm chopping, and there is just one piece of wood I can't find.
I think that once you chop a certain portion of the trunk (basically everything reachable from the ground), the tree should slowly (more slowly than if you chopped the whole thing) decay, and the remaining leaves and wood should fall off.
This way, chopping a big tree won't result in you getting raged at that once piece of wood t hen just burning it and accidentally burning the whole forest.
I'm thinking it should fully decay after 1 Minecraft day. I'm talking about a slooooow decay, not something where the tree falls once you take out the stump. If someone leaves a floating tree, at least it'll decay after a while instead of a player having to find it and burn it.
There is nothing wrong with this idea at all. Wow. WOW. A topic that can't feed my desire for other people's stupidity? This is blasphemy, THIS IS MADNESS!!!

No, the leaves only disappear if all of the wood next to them is gone. If you leave just one piece of wood in there, the leaves will stay.
