I was thinking of another tree, how about a large [##]x[##] tree, it extended high into the sky, and inside was possible a mini dungeon, or a small civilization of villagers. The name of the tree is "Yggdrasia"
Maybe...? I sort of get it... This could actually work. However, I think it would have to have some sort of fixed Spawn Point, like growing in a special Biome all of it's own.

Excuse me, but that was my comment you just read there, bub.

I agree, maybe it could be rarely-seen amongst those wide open spaces of plains, or in the areas where the new larger trees are at.
remove dungeon and villages from the suggestion. Make it a rare tree have leaves stripped and can regrow that have a small chance of dropping fruit that can be used to resurrect allies, cure poison, give full food and health with one fruit. It would be the ultimate health item but be very rare.
If the tree is cut down then theres a chance for it to pop up somewhere else on map. So there will always be a Ygg tree somewhere on world but just be hard to find.
Would be easier and more likely to be implemented than a whole new dungeon system =/

well what I mean by stripping it of leaves, is like how you get apples stripping the leaves off the tree. So when you strip the leaves off the ygg tree you are trying to get the Ygg fruit. Once its stripped of leaves over a certain amount of time it will begin regenerating new leaves again. So people can pretty much sit and harvest Yggs if they are patient enough and have the tree hidden.

Ah, I misinterpreted it.

This seems a bit odd though. Why have such a random, massive thing just to house a bland old dungeon or AI-challenged villagers?
One chants out between two worlds: "Fire - Walk with me."

I understand what your going at, maybe theres something special in there, i dont know

I like the idea, but not stripped of leaves.
