The new zombie AI can go far in my opinion. I was thinking of something I thought would be very fun for some people. A zombie appocalypse mode. You spawn in a village on a flat map which is abandoned. You begin with a leather chestplate, a bow, stone sword, and stack of arrows. Zombies are the only hostile mobs that can spawn. Passive mobs can spawn but zombies will try to kill them (if they do, the drops are destroyed), zombies can spawn anywhere even in sunlight and do not burn. You can't break or place blocks (except cake). The game is locked on hardcore so zombies can break the doors, and you only have one life. The terrain generator will continuously generate more village and stay flat. You're probably wondering how you would get materials, basically, the occasional house has a chest which can contain cake (10% chance), an iron sword (20% chance), a diamond sword (5% chance and only in the really big houses), Arrows (anywhere from 1-64 with a 35% chance), any cooked meat (1-32 with a 50% chance), cookies (1-50 with an 80% chance). So essentially, its a nomadic life of raiding the dead. I think it would be fun, but my opinion is insignifigant without support, so what's your opinion on this gamemode?

Curse PremiumAlbeit mine is a bit more fleshed out and balanced, imho. Not to mention readable.
