Well, I'm sure many of you have thought of this, and I've seen some with the general idea. I think that iron golems should be a bit more refined, and not just wander off into the fields, offering no protection to villagers.
My suggestion is a craft-able redstone controller box that could be attached to a golem. When right-clicked, a display would come up with four commands: stay, follow, attack, and patrol/guard. This is very similar to RTS commands as you may have noticed.
This also, unlike other ideas, would not make the iron golems over-powered but it would still make them a heck of a lot more useful.
If this has already been suggested, my apologies. Comments/ideas?
Well, IMHO, a nice suggestion would be updating their AI so they follow Gravel, and patrol around it (Most likely because villages have Gravel as their roads)
this way, you can both PUT your own Gravel and make them follow it and protect your designed area, and they will also protect villages by themselfs.

it doesn't matter your amount of reps or post numbers, what matters is : Did you make'em count?

If wandering golems is an issue, all that is needed is an AI improvement.
One chants out between two worlds: "Fire - Walk with me."
