Hello, welcome to my suggestion thread! here i shall share with you my idea for a dungeon crawl mode!
basic dungeon settings
You cannot place blocks!
you can only break certain blocks!
items have no duribilty, however at the end of each floor you loose all items! though you may bind 4 items.
the tools you get arn't normal ones...
crafting is a GUI rather then just guessing, however you have to use a crafting bench to craft at all.
you don't need xp to enchant and you may choose the enchant depending on your score enchanting does not lower your score.
hunger is optional!
monsters get 1.5 stronger the more players there are.
Dunegon crawls goal is to beat the boss and get to the end of the dungeon!
dungeon room info
Dungeons have different sizes, which have a set amount of rooms such as:
The more rooms there are, the stronger the monsters
dungeons will have floors, every 15 floors the theme change, each theme has a set of monsters:
frozen
warped
abandoned
nether
sky
types of rooms:
spawn: you start out here, you can trade with a merchent useing coins you start out with a few chests with random things like food, it also contains the gatestone portal and anything used for crafting/smelting/smithing/enchanting/brewing or summoning
puzzle room: puzzle rooms, has the name implys has a puzzle you must complete in order to get to the next room such as a slideing puzzle or lights out.
combat room: this one is pretty self explanitory, it's a room with monsters and gurdien doors you can't pass though the gurdian doors unless all monsters have been defeated, combat rooms can have have puzzles and vice-versea not all combat rooms will have gurdian doors.
boss room: a spaceous room where you fight the boss, pretty much manitory.
bonus room: a room which you do not have to complete but you get bonus score if you do and some decent loot.
door types
some doors need to be opened in a special way.
puzzle door: you need to complete the puzzle in order to pass though, failing a puzzle will result in takeing damage
gurdian door: you must kill all monsters to progress
key door: you can only get though theese doors useing a key of a certain colour and shape such as blue triange or red pentagon
requirement door: to get past you must have a certain amount of exp or cleared enough rooms.
raw metirals and tools
intead of useing our normal tools (wood, iron, gold, dimond) there should be "other worldly" meterials.
cutting tree's preduces sticks, rather then wood.
there is a spot in spawn you can use to farm, seeds are not recived from fully grown plants.
there would be about 7-10 tiers of materials.
each tier deals more damage then the last the final tier is only dropped rarely from monsters and bosses.
farms would be for dungeon specific potions
food and supplys
food would consist mostly of strange plants and fish some goes with potions.
merchant
he will sell you raw meterials and verious other things, he won't follow you out of spawn, he will give you infomation about items and floor infomation mostly vague stuff, he won't sell stuff for free but it's a good thing monsters drop coins and various other things.
cretures and monsters
Monsters will appear in combat rooms but each dungon type has a specific type of mob, monsters drop tools, raw matierals and gold, you can even summon a item holder at the cost of a few matierals.
all types: theese monsters will appear on any floor type
giant (a big guy who will easily take you down)
gurdian (useally made of iron much like golems, but somewhat higher defance)
dungeon creeper (does explode but it doesn't deal damage the land or harm evil monsters)
white/black/green wizard (white uses healing on monsters, black deals damage to you and green buffs monsters)
mercenery leader (summons warriors untill you defeat him.)
endermen
frozen floor varitey monsters they are weak to fire based attacks:
frost (much like a blaze, but frozen, causes slowness on you apon projectile hit)
ice knight (a knight made of soild ice, his blade can bind you in place if it hits)
ice spider (self explanitory)
glacial spirit (a ghost like thing that spreads snow and powers up ice based attacks)
baby frost dragon (causes blue fire which depleds your hunger bar)
frost bones ( a blue boned skeleton that's pretty fast)
abandond floor varitey, no specific weaknesses but not immune to anything though bane of anthropods is a must.
dungeon spider (sort of a brown-ish spider it can poison you sometimes)
cave spider
silver fish (without their block breaking abiltys)
skeleton (sometimes use poison arrows)
earth elemental (a big rock creture that can dish out rocks and leaves spiked rocks)
dragon (your garden varity dragon)
leeches (saps your hp when you get attacked and it heals them)
zombie
slimes
zombiepigmen
warped floor varity they tend to be mostly twisted creatures so splash potions of health deal alot of damage, any blade with smite is also good.
warped fly ( a warped bug thing )
zombie
skeleton
rift deamon (can cancel out gate stone teleports)
animated tools (floating tools that attack you includeing fishing rods and bows)
sentinal sentry ( it shoots a beam at you it can't move but it's range makes up for it)
mecha creeper (blows up multiple times, deals no damage to the land but flings cogs apon explodeing)
redead (you have to kill this guy 3 times and he stuns you much like the ones in zelda)
chaotic dragon (sort of dark purple and causes nausea on you)
traphand (grabs you and teleports you back to the spawn and resets the room)
nether floor varity they tend to be weak against snow/ice/frost based attacks, fire resistance potions are highly recomended.
blaze
magma cube
zombiepigmen
flame dragon (crimson of colour, it leaves fire behind and cancels fire resistance)
fire creeper (leaves fire after explodeing, does no damage to the land)
spicey (a fast attacker uses both range and close combat)
sky floor varity projectiles work wonders theese guys can be sorta faster then normal
air wizard (a call back to minicraft! this guy just pushes you with air more of a destraction)
flying creeper (explodes on contact with a mob or you, does no damage to the land)
angel of death (always leaves you on half a heart but it cannot kill you past that)
whisp (a small spirit that hits into you)
jin (a cloud like creature that can give you negitive effects)
friendly creatures
you may only have one summoned creature at a time
friendermen (he is a white endermen who can hold certain objects for you he does attack and teleport you when you have low hp at the cost of some of his hp)
pak yak (you can store items in his bag but there more you store the less his attacks hurt)
creepy (a friendly creeper that explodes but only damages monsters and gives you a random buff)
spyder (lets you peek into the next room)
pack rat (he picks up any arrows you shoot so you can use them again, he can also get monster arrows aswell)
magpie (increases your chance of getting better loot)
mr oinky (he can convert hunger into hp!)
swop (he can swap effects between mobs ane the player, handy if there is green wizards can be somewhat chaotic at times)
diggy d. ( a little dwarf that increases the chance of getting ore from rocks and monsters)
BOSS SECTION!
here's what you have been waiting for!
like mobs, bosses go into floor types, and each boss would have their own music!
icefiend he can incase himself in ice to protect himself drops iceicals from the roof, watch out, there pointy
frost demon he can freeze you soild and you have to get a another mob/player to get you out if you dont then you break out and get some damage he also makes the floor slippery.
necromancer
summons all types of undead units, you have to destory his summoning crystals to stop him summoning things!
berserker
wields a massive hammer he can stun you and weaken your defance he also charges into you lure him too a wall!
stormbringer
masters lightning, wearing metal armour isn't a good idea he can do wind, thunder and lightning based attacks some of them can be really devosateing!
"the voices"
the voices you "hear" in the minecraft credits, it turns out that they were misleading you, they are very powerful and have 1 hit kill moves this is the final boss!
herobrine
After you beat the voices, an optional boss appears, herobrine! he is not effected by any potions he un-summons your creatures, he can teleport, leaves trails of fire, he can use lightning he can cause blindness, weakness and slowness he wields a golden sword after you beat him, notch explains the dungeons purpose was to seal the evil of herobrine away but monsters began to come from there and herobrine ended up corrputing the dungeon crateing the werid materials we have been useing he thanks us then leaves and then the credits roll, but this time, the end text is different.
things i missed
scores are useally kept from floor to floor, you start with the gatestone, when you die you drop it so you can teleport back to it instantly, the penilty for death is score loss.
Well, that basicly sums it up, thanks for reading it all, comment and stuff!
slideing puzzle: you have to make the puzzle complete
sequance puzzle: you have to do certain task withen a certain order
follow the leader puzzle: you have to follow the leaders action
rock paper scissors: you have to create a statue of the other statues weakness
maze puzzle: you have to get though a maze withen a alloted time to get a prize, but if you dont make it in time you get damage and no prize but you still can get though to the next rooms
reversei puzzle: finish off a reversei game to win
tic tac toe: self explanitory
light refection puzzle: a beam of light is in the room, you have to get it to hit a light actvated unlocking system useing mirrors.
The idea is interesting. But it's definitely more suited to a mod. Not necessarily because it wouldn't work in vanilla (though it wouldn't: the ideas here, particularly the puzzles and attacks, are rather complex for Minecraft) but because it would be too much work to add all of that. All these new materials, mobs, music, and everything just for a certain game mode that many would just leave alone.

Isn't the rule about not posting "there's a mod for that" unless your useing that for an example, of course.
Practically an RPG adventure mode, with a fistfull of pointless mobs thrown in. Do not want.
Yes, but you still have to craft and mine things.
slideing puzzle: you have to make the puzzle complete
sequance puzzle: you have to do certain task withen a certain order
follow the leader puzzle: you have to follow the leaders action
rock paper scissors: you have to create a statue of the other statues weakness
