The title is self explanatory. I was thinking, "if there is cake, why not pie?" So I decided to make a suggestion. It would have the same crafting recipe as cake, but you would put an apple into the crafting table, instead of sugar, so that it could make "Apple Pie." It obviously wouldn't heal hunger that well because it would be too overpowering. It would most likely heal about 1/2 hunger or 1 hunger. I know that it wouldn't really be worth going through the trouble to make, but it would still be a cool thing to have in the game.
Edit: It doesn't make sense that an apple heals 2 or 2 1/2 and apple pie heals 1 heart, then it would be useless to make the pie when you could just have the apple. Maybe it could heal 4 hearts but it is not stack-able.
hmm i was thinking the crafting could be like this
:///: -wheat -apple -egg - sugar
and this first recipe would give you a pie thats portable and can be eaten from hand but heals less than a non portable pie, to make it non-portable you would craft a pie dish with iron like so.
where iron=
now this would give the same amount of food that cake does
two things really just another thing you could use for decoration if you wanted.
i mean you could set a pie somewhere in the open and i prefer pie over cake as decoration anyday. and if you decided to make it portable but like i suggested then you'd be able to sell pie. and thats like saying why have steak if we have porkchops?
Because it doesn't really have a direct purpose. It's just a fun food item. Plus, no one makes cake anyway, besides for aesthetics, it has no purpose because of its low hunger healing ability. Also, there are cookies in the game too, but no one makes those either because you need cocoa bean from a chest in an abandoned mineshaft or dungeon. I just felt that having Pie would add a nice addition to the collection of deserts.

This is a good idea.
thank you i thought id help a bit and give it a reicepe and maybe give some things that would make it worthwhile to add into the game
There's more than enough food types in the game already.
There are some foods in minecraft, but the thing is, there aren't that many complex foods that require a lot of crafting in the crafting table. The only food items that require further crafting is mushroom stew, cake, bread, cookies, and golden apples. Bread is very simple and boring to make. Most people have never even crafted cookies or even heard of them. Golden apples heal hunger just the same as a regular apple but have healing abilities that last for 5 seconds, so it isn't that worth it to use your gold on a golden apple. Mushroom stew and bread are the only useful crafting foods. However, mushroom stew is non stackable which prevents it from being overpowering. All the rest of the food is basic. Get meat, put it in oven. It would be cool if you could make meat stews or something with them. Also, melons just involve breaking a melon block.
