First it would be SUPER rare, like only one vein of three every four chunks.
It would be green. I understand that Uranium is grey, but, I think most people think of it as green.
First off, the ore would have green, void-fog looking things coming from it. If you touch it you get poisoned, much like with poisoned spiders. However, your hearts would be green, you would loose hearts slower, and it would last longer.
The ore would drop Uranium shards. Uranium blocks could be created with 9 shards, just like diamonds. Uranium blocks would have the same properties as the ore, but when placed in water, the water would star to turn green, and its effects would be spread to the rest of it.
Uranium can be used to smelt 1000 items. It can be used to create any tool, and armor. The tool would be able to be smelted to repair the item, sense its so rare.
Swords could be crafted like so:
:Bacon::|:
Dimonds being uranium shards, and bacon being leather. The leather would sort of insulate you from the radiation. Would deal the same amount of hearts as a demimonde sword, but also poison the enemy. The enemy would have green bubbles coming out of it.
Other tools would be crafted the same way, but they would be a lot quicker then dimonds. They would turn blocks a light shade of green, and slowly destroy the block, taking time depending on the block.
Armor would be crafted normally, but the unfilled blocks would be filled with leather.
When you punch a block it would turn green and slowly destroy its self. When you punch a mob, it would be posined. Also, you could walk in lava for 10 seconds without any harm.
Thoughs?

The thing is, U-235 doesn't even give off enough radiation to cook stuff or harm you that quickly. Besides, it's extremely rare. I don't think it fits Minecraft at all.
I remember my first Uranium topic, it got trolled to death. Just to let you know, new ore + new tools and armor = stupid. Now a ore that dropped exp would be great.

"Gods will always behave like the people who created them"
I like the idea.
But I think it would be better in a mod.
I don't think the mod has the features I said. Its more like green dimonds.

EPIC IDEA that is cool
You know you want to click them! I LOVE MINECRAFT!
I said that in the post. You lose damage if you touch the block.
