1. Furnace Enchantments. Now, I know this sounds wierd, but I have thought this through. I'm not banging rocks together, this could be very cool.
Example enchantments:
Efficiency: Decreases fuel needed to smelt things proportionate to the Enchantment level.
Fortune: when smelting ores, there is a 0.75% chance (at level 1) of getting 10% more ingots/bars/whatever.
Swiftness: Decreases smelting time proportionate to the Enchantment level.
2. Lava buckets don't consume the bucket in a furnace, just the lava. I know this is possible to code because Cake doesn't use up buckets, just the milk. This suggestion is a bit outdated thoug, not sure if furnaces still consume all of the lava bucket.
3. The ability to un-smelt things like Minecarts and Buckets. You should be able to melt down anything made of ingots (such as iron or gold) to get them back. Exception: tools and armor, as this could make recycling tools too easy. I still beleive you should be able to melt down extra or accidental buckets, clocks, compasses, Minecarts, etc. however.
i like the enchantments. not sure about the smelting/recycling... but that doesnt mean its not a good idea! (too easy to get ores back).
You can recycle in real life, with almost anything!
That's why I suggested it for items made of ingots THAT ARE NOT TOOLS OR ARMOR. That way, you can't get diamonds back, but you can unsmelt iron and gold. :smile.gif:
1. There is already enough coal in the world and other things to smelt so I don't think there needs to be a way to use less.
2. Buckets should still be consumed, I'm pretty sure it's intentional. Lava is pretty easy to get so you have to sacrifice 3 iron for it to smelt extra long.
3. If it had to be added it should give you way less than what you started. Don't really like the idea.
Enchanting furnaces just seems silly. Better left to tools and armor.
Furnaces are furnaces. Whats next? Crafting table enchantments which have a possibility of building the thing you type in or consuming the materials? Or chests which double the space of starage?
