First, you would craft it with one piece of TNT and one... I don't know yet. I was thinking maybe 1 piece of Flint and Steel, 1 piece of Redstone. You decide what.
It would look like TNT, except be a darker shade of red and have Napalm written on it instead of, TNT.
It would be lit the exact same way as TNT, drop the same way and can be used as a cannon the same way. It's only difference is it would make a fiery explosion. Any block that touched the explosion but was not destroyed will be lit on fire.
And the look can be changed. And the name can be changed. It's just what I think would be the best. Except the behavior should stay the same for a fiery explosion.
You need to consider the side-effects, not just single-player, but multiplayer. That is also assuming you do not use Bukkit. Major Grief Overhaul. TNT is already widely abused by griefers, and sadly only Bukkit permits the prevention of this. Having a more Powerful TNT is bad idea for a vanilla game right now. It's already been done new Explosive tools though, might want to give that at try.

I forgot to mention that posting "theirs a mod for that", is against the rules. I'll just give you a warning. But next time somebody says "mod". I'll report you.
And to reply to this. How will napalm cause more griefing? It's already easy to catch a house on fire. This just blows it up and catches it on fire at once. A greifer can do both anyway in 10 seconds.
I kinda like the idea, but not sure how useful it would be. And honestly, it should be the servers responsibility to handle griefers. They shouldn't hold back from adding things cause people are dicks.

You are in no position to give warnings, remember that.

Actually he didn`t do anything that is against the rules. To clear things up I`m just going to quote Neodymius:
I want to clarify, it is not against the rules to point out to a user that there is a mod for their suggestion, as long as you also contribute to the suggestion itself.
Simply stating that "there is a mod for that" without discussing the suggestion, or using it as an argument to dismiss the suggestion is against the rules.
If you actually read the rules throughly you would have noticed this. Marcus101RR did actually say what he disliked about the idea as well, so he did contribute to the thread, kinda.
Apart from that, one redstone dust and one flint`n steel far to cheap for something that OP. Maybe the TNT recipe just with a flint and steel in the middle instead of gunpowder. And maybe even coal instead of sand as that is as close to petroleum we are ever going to get. (If you want it to stay as napalm)
Also I don`t see how you would fit all the letters in "napalm" on the side of the 16x16 texture. I tried myself in paint. You could probably go with something as simple as "fire" on the side of the textures instead. It kinda fits better with the theme everybody think that minecraft is in as well. (medieval themed)
Great idea! One problem though. How are you going to put NAPALM on a 16x16 texture pack? I guess you can shorten but it would look awkward with just NAP,NPL,PAL,NPM, etc.

The fact that cats go bark is scientifically unproven to be 100% false.
