Chain Armour? Yush.
I have three suggestions for how this should be made. My first one involves Rings and Chains. 1.Rings would be crafted like this...
(Nothing)(Iron)(Nothing)
(Iron)(Nothing)(Diamond)
(Nothing)(Iron)(Nothing)
That makes a ring. These could be worn as Gauntlets and would increase your Critical Hit Chance.
Now we would use these Rings to make Chains, like so;
(Ring)(Ring)(Ring)
And we get a Chain. Now we make this Chain into Chainmail, like this...
(Chain)(Chain)(Chain)
(Chain)(Chain)(Chain)
(Chain)(Chain)(Chain)
There is Chainmail. Then we make this Chainmail into Armour in the usual fashion. Worth it? I think so, leastways. 2.My second suggestion fits the current crafting recipe - Fire. My first way for making Fire is with a Coal Block.
Coal Blocks would be made simply like this;
(Coal)(Coal)(Coal)
(Coal)(Coal)(Coal)
(Coal)(Coal)(Coal)
Coal Blocks could be burnt in a Furnace 16 times. This would work by having a Durability Bar at the bottom of it. Coal Blocks would also be used to make Fire. Crafting as Coal Block underneath Flint and Steel - for example;
(Flint and Steel)
(Coal Block)
- would make Fire. This could then be used to make Chain Armour. Even if another of these suggestions is put into practice, I would still like the Coal Block. If not for Furnacing then for Decoration. 3. My third suggestion still follows the line of Firecrafting. In this case, Fire would be made by putting Paper in a Furnace. However, this case makes Chain Armour easily obtainable, so in this way you would need to make FireIron by doing this;
(Fire)(Fire) (Fire)
(Fire)(Diamond)(Fire)
(Fire)(Fire) (Fire)
This FireIron would then be used to make Chain Armour. Like it? EDIT:
As sploder99999 pointed out, Chainmail armour isn't actually that good. What I'm suggesting here is that it becomes that good if one of these suggestions are implemented.
The first one is far too expensive. You don't use diamond rings to make armor- you use rings of plain old iron.
Crafting fire doesn't make much sense to me. You don't carry a piece of fire around. You carry flint and steel. As for the coal block, it would be nice to be able to compress eight coal down into one block that could smelt an entire stack of material.
if chain mail was put in vanilla i think zombies should drop chain mail as a rare drop instead of the iron armor rare drop that they have in the snapshot now.

Okay. I know crafting Fire doesn't make any sense; I completely prefer the first one. Also, the first one involves Diamond rings because I'm proposing Chain Armour becomes more powerful than Diamond Armour. And, yes, I definitely think the Coal block needs to be implemented.

Well, my suggestion involves Chain Armour becoming super valuable and being more powerful than Diamond. Zombies should only drop Iron Armour in my opinion.

Excuse me, but that was my comment you just read there, bub.

Still, it's rather illogical. It would not be unlike making chain mail armor out of gold rings studded with Lapis. Just think about the cost here:
72 diamonds for chainmail armor
45 diamonds for chainmail helmet
36 diamonds for chainmail boots
63 diamonds for chainmail leggings
I truly doubt you're ever going to have 216 diamonds lying around.

The way you suggested it, you think stone is better than diamod.
