TL;DR
Recipe:
Pros: Cuts your waiting times on smelting, brewing, farming, and increases the rate at which spawners create mobs in a certain area. Also increases your mining rate when nearby.
Cons: OM NOM NOM NOM FUEL! Better keep a chest of lava buckets on hand. If unlit areas are nearby, there will be more mobs spawning there. Multiple processes cause the Accelerator to burn through fuel faster. If you are near an Accelerator, your hunger bar will decrease faster as well.
Ah, waiting. An element of minecraft that cannot be avoided when it comes to certain things. want that exp farm to fill up? Want that netherwart to grow? Waiting for baby animals to mature? Want that 5 stacks of iron you so dutifully mined to HURRY UP AND SMELT? The Accelerator is here to solve all your problems.
The Accelerator, when placed, will speed up all processes nearby when active. It is fueled by the same items that are usually burned in furnaces, though the more processes it has to speed up, the more fuel it will burn. (This means setting it next to a farm and smelting charcoal nearby is probably only barely worth the trouble.)
The Accelerator can even accelerate YOU! Just set it down and suddenly mining Obsidian isn't that time-consuming anymore. But be careful!! If you have any unlit areas around, mobs WILL spawn faster in there! And do note that you also burn through your hunger bar faster while under an Accelerator's effects.

Mining speed could be speed up with enchantments and potions (Haste potion was suggested in the code originally, perhaps it will come back)
Mobs spawn from spawners rapidly enough as it is.
You don't need to speed up smelting, farming, and brewing, just multitask. Do something else, or if you really can't, minimize Minecraft and do something else.

If it were a mod suggestion, then I would have requested that someone make it as such. Is such a request there? I think not. :smile.gif:
