Enchantable music disks would be really nice. They could summon hostile mobs, or scare them away. They might even be able to summon a boss or something.
For example, you may get these enchantments:
Pig melody - spawns and summons three pigs to you - level 10
Cow Tune - spawns and summons three cows to you - level 20
Chicken Song - spawns and summons three chickens to you- level 8
Zombie Ballad- spawns and summons five zombies to you - level 10
...and so on...
I don't really see how this is overpowered because:
1. You would need to find a blank disk- dungeon or stronghold or abandoned mineshaft
2. You would need a jukebox- 1 diamond
3. You would need to create an enchantment table- obsidian and two diamond
4. You would need to reach a certain level of xp to enchant the disk
5. The enchantment on the disk would wear out after each use.
6. The disk would break after the enchantment wears off.
EDIT: By the way when I said "summon" I didn't mean ally/fight with you, the monsters are still going to attack you, they just see you from afar and come to you to kill you.
This would be a very good idea for a mod, but as an actual feature it would be overpowered. It just would. The materials necessary that you listed are easy to get, and so are levels.

Really? I thought it was useless compared to overpowered because you would have to listen to an entire song, and also, by the time you would have gotten the enchanted disk, you would have a farm anyways.

Oh, I didn't know it was an entire song you had to listen to xD

ultimate is right, the idea is awesome and i love it, but in vainilla minecraft it would be way too powerfull
I don't see how its too powerful. You could only summon zombies at night because they would burn in the sun, along with skeletons. But at night there will be many outside anyways. Also, summoning a zombie still makes it want to kill you.
I would love this sort of thing, my idea would be that you need to wait like 30 min before each use and not having the 5. and 6. because I bet that not many people likes consumeable items, espesially that in this case you would need to kill around 30 zombies to spawn 3 zombies somewhere where you want.. It would be just easier to make a mob farm. But I really like this idea
Good idea. It might have balance issues, but those could be sorted out. The level costs are pretty high anyway. This would be the best way to pull off summoning a boss I've heard of yet.

Minecraft makes me feel like I'm three. Playing with blocks and afraid of the dark.
Reminds me a bit of Legend of Zelda, and it might actually be good to "borrow" some ideas from it. There are lots of different discs now - perhaps each one could be given an individual power. You could also put in effects that alter otherwise untouched gameplay aspects - perhaps one disc would toggle precipitation, another might accelerate or slow down the day/night cycle as it played. Maybe a weak poison effect that affects enemies in a certain radius?
I agree with you that it wouldn't be broken, as you don't just stumble across music discs all the time. It would also allow you to have greater control in creative mode (it always annoys me when it starts raining in the middle of the day so I can't just sleep it off).
Unfortunately, this would probably never make it into the vanilla game, as there is every chance that Nintendo will get annoyed (see my first sentence). It would make a fun mod though, and I know that I'd dl it if only I could figure out why 7zip isn't working like it does for everybody else. ?_?
I don't see why Nintendo would get annoyed. Other games have had songs that could do things.
