Everybody knows how pointless Lapis is. Everybody had the newb moment when they had their first deep mine, went "OOOOHHHH that's a cool ore, maybe I can make tools?" Then get dissapointed when you dyed your wool. With a semi-rare ore. That's all? Well not anymore...
INTRODUCING MORE LAPIS
Lapis Flower
It's crafted by putting one lapis over a flower (any kind). This flower can spread, and you can harvest lapis more easily, without bothering to go find it. This is useful, only that if you find purpose for it, it's nice.
NOW TO ADD MORE PURPOSE THEN WOOL...
Lapis Gem
Crafted by putting a 2x2 lapis square. This will come in use to start making tools with Lapis. It will simply look like a square gem, maybe the kind you would see on a ring.
Lapis Tools
Crafted with lapis gems, and created with regular stick, and recipes for tools. They're between Iron and Diamond, so they'll be fairly useful. They are also fast, but much more durable then Gold.
Book of Wools (Because lapis is used for wool.)
Crafted like an enchantment table, except with Lapis instead of diamond. It appears when you click it sort of like a brewing stand, and you insert a dye on the top and the wool on the bottom. This gives you 3x the wool if you hand dyed it.
YOU MAY HAVE READ THIS... AND BEEN LIKE, NO ARMOR?
Well that's right. No armor. Can you imagine wearing such a silly blue color. Go, picture it. You'll wish you never had.
P.S: I may add pics if this were to get support, but I'm bad at art :smile.gif:

i like the book of wools, but using obsidian for a book of wools? seems pointless :smile.gif: but i like the lapis color, so i'd appriciate seeing it more.

You could just dye a sheep and shear it, instead. The wool grows back in the colour that it was dyed, so infinite coloured wool.
These sound like great ideas. I would really like it if you could help me on my Opal Ore project at: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1045181-opal-ore/page__gopid__12987149#entry12987149
Also, Lapis blocks should be incorporated into your design. Lapis blocks could be used to make a structure similar to a snow golem, with a gold block as a head and lapis body. The Gem Golem would add a new use to gold, because it kind of sucks, and it would stand on top of underground mines with precious stones. It would be ignored by enemies, but could be destroyed by other players or yourself with a pickaxe, yrilding a bunch of lapis and gold. It would be useful for finding diamonds and (in my thread) Opals. Gem golems would also try to jump in to lava, making them annoying and inefficient when trying to bring them mining. That would nerf it a bit. Anyways, I think minecraft needs more golems, like the cactus golems in the Sombrero Project, (check it out!) and bring uses to bad items too.

When I make banners, people always say "THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG YOU ARE AWESOME" but never give me a +1. It makes me sad.

Awesome! Thanks for your input. I will look at the Opals and possibly try to help, but I'm not good at designing or modding. lol.
I am only liking the Lapis Flower idea, but as long as it doesn't spread TOO fast. Maybe it would have a limit how fast it grows depending on your game mode? Like how the others should be?
