I have lots of ideas. lots. These ideas will make the game easier and harder, and more exciting!
Dungeons are somewhat lacking in rewards, since all you get is things you don't need to survive, besides string, wheat, bread, iron, etc. I was thinking you could put Melon/pumpkin seeds in dungeon chests and maybe some other stuff like diamonds! Plus when you destroy a mob spawner it gives you a lot of experience, (about 5 levels if your level 0)
In Tundra (not taiga) biomes i was thinking, when melted ice is turned into water, and you swim in freezing water, your health slowly goes down, and when you get out you move slower (as much as a slowness potion I). This could make surviving in the tundra even harder and more challenging!
Also, this might sound like a bad idea to some, but what if rain/snow destroys torches? pure logic, correct? What if you could counter this by making lanterns (not the new redstone ones) out of torches and glass. In crafting it would look like a glass BLOCK on top of a torch.
Edit: I just remembered this one: You should be able to smelt rotten flesh into healthy food! (the heat kills the bacteria and stuff)
Diamonds in dungeon chest? No, it's bad enough that they can have them in them in spawn in village chests. The water hurting me in a Tundra would be so horrible, I'd never go into a Tundra ever again. Also Notch said he would add lanterns to the game a long long time ago. He said that torches would go out but he never added it. I think I read a tweet by Jeb_ that weren't going through with it.
**** yeah to everything except the torches. I'm sure people wont enjoy replacing hundreds of torches everytime it rains. They flipped when snow replaced redstone and minecart tracks. This would be equal in magnitude.
There is barely anything useful in stronghold chests. you're lucky to get bread or an apple in those things. Otherwise it's just books, and enderpearls.
