In the newest pre-release zombies will attack the villagers at night. Although they did do that before, now any villagers killed are reproduced in order to fill the empty houses. So, maybe you should get a reward for keeping them alive. For every 2 days all the houses are filled and no villagers are harmed, the villagers will approach and give you some materials (seeds, wheat, food, occasionally tools etc.) Every 4 days there are no villager deaths, the town librarian will approach you and give you a scrap of paper. You can use this to learn new crafting recepies, however they will be mostly aesthetic; carpets, a wider selection of paintings, stained class etc. On the 6 day is when things really get good. The town's priest will give a book, which can be used to learn new enchantments (I'm open to suggestions here) On the 8th day the village's blacksmith will approach you and give you a book, which gives you new recepies for crafting weapons and armor, including chain armor, flails, and katanas. On the 10 day, the villagers will begin to expand the village. Finally, on the 12 day the villagers will build you your own house that you can live in. All of these do stack, so, say after 8 days you will get; food and resources, librarian paper, and the smith's book. I'm still looking for a way to integrate new potions, but I have run out of artisans. Perhaps after a long enough time, all new artisans will be born?
This idea sounds great. I mean i don't think it should be done exactly like that but its an awesome base idea! I would also like the idea of the villagers building new buildings like a Stable (horses added to game?) A chicken coop? a Lumberjacks hut? ect ect +1 :smile.gif:Also Add Curtains.
I like where this is going, but perhaps it should be less like 'They walk up to you' and more like 'They leave it in a chest somewhere.' This would be better, but that's simply my opinion (Y)

As of the latest snapshot, zombie sieges spawn in villages, despite light levels. This idea is most definitely challenging enough
