I would like to see trents(tree people) in minecraft's forest biome!
Trents would be stationary mobs that look like small trees in block mode but when you try to destroy them they will turn into a tree looking mob(like silverfish). If there are any other trents near the one you attacked they will all swarm you together(like pigmen). Also if a fire is placed closer then 5 blocks away from the trent all nearby trents( including the one that saw the fire) turn into mob form and attack all nearby mobs and players.Trents get hurt twice as fast and strong as players do to fire.Whenever the attacker dies or runs away the trent reverts to block mode and regenerates health. If in a desert the trent slowly dies. If a player switches the block underneath the trent when in block mode, the trent turns into mob mode.
They would drop a special type of log. You would then be able to make the logs into staffs that when enchanted, would have the enchantment twice as strong and the staffs' durability would be between iron and diamond.
There would also be a very rare drop: Trent Heart
an item that if you right click a tree you know is a trent, the trent will follow and protect you like a wolf and when right clicked would revert to block form(if you want it to follow you agian you would not need another trent heart). When the trent is activated by a Trent Heart it will never despawn.
How to know if a tree is an ent:
You would have to look at the front and middle of the tree and look for a face like the one of a pumpkin just with bark texture.
It would also be a short tree(3 blocks high).
At night all trents turn into mob mode but are neutral.
what do you think about my new idea for a new mob!?
STAFFS
To make staffs you will need 2 dryad/trent logs and an ingot of gold, iron or diamond
= dryad logs = diamond/iron ingot/gold ingot
First, you take the Dryad/ent/trent logs and put them in a crafting table as you would with sticks just with a iron ingot/gold ingot or diamond at the top of the logs and you get an unenchanted staff(does as much damage as 3/4s the material used at the top of the logs does as a sword, EX: iron tipped staff does 3/4 as much damage as an iron sword)! The iron ingot/gold ingot or diamond affects the durability of the staff, you can then enchant the staff with its own special enchantments on an elemental Forge.
to make a staff forge you need an enchantment table, Brewing Table, 3 furnaces and a workbench
and place them like this:
= brewing table = enchantment table = dryad logs
With the elemental forge you would be able to put element based enchantments on staffs, the staff can get a 50% stronger enchantment and when you right click, instead of blocking with your staff you can activate your enchantment(if the enchantment description says there is a right click ability). The enchantment though, only stays on the staff for half of it's durability to balance the awesomeness of staffs.
To enchant your staff with the elemental forge you would have to have 2 items and the required amount of xp(like a brewing table and enchantment table combined). The 2 items are the staff and the item that will give you the wanted enchantment.
Ideas for possible enchantments:
Dragon staff: Dragon egg and staff combined, ability to summon a baby ender dragon protector(or maybe, transform into a small enderdragon) on right click.
Fire staff: Blaze powder and staff combined, ability to place fire and set fire to mobs when hit.
Ender staff: Ender eye and staff combined, ability to teleport.
Thunder staff:Ingredient 1(please recommend idea for ingredient 1)and staff combined, ability to call a lightning bolt to smite your enemies.
Fire ball staff: Ghast tear and staff combined, ability to throw weakened fireballs(does not destroy blocks)
If you have anymore ideas please post!!!
I think Silverfish should just randomly spawn in some trees. More things doesn't always mean "better", that's why I dislike suggestions that add a new item to add a new block to add a new mob to add a new biome to add whatever and so on. It's a bunch of useless items that people want seen just because they're new to the game, rather than a smaller, singular, much more exciting feature.

I agree, silverfish spawning in trees would be nice but still, it might get annoying. And just because i came up with an idea for a new mob doesnt mean i am a new player... I have been playing since the middle of alpha, i am just bored with vanilla minecraft and to lazy and retarded to install mods :smile.gif:
I don't like how they turn into mob mode at night. I think they should just stay in tree form until provoked.
I also don't like how the trent would attack everything in sight because of a fire. Doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Why doesnt it make sense to you, they are scared of fire so they would get enraged, but maybe you are right and they should just flee instead. Maybe this can be based on game level, for example if you play on easy they run away but if you play on hard they get enraged. Ya though, they should stay in mob mode at night, going to edit my post, thanks!
Call them Dryads. Or ents. Trents sounds... kinda stupid?
A staff with extra-high enchantability would be a nice addition because it wouldn't just be a reskinned sword.
Or, here's an idea:
Staffs would be a weapon with fairly low durability made from Dryad wood. Unlike other weapons, staffs start off with a random enchantment-
To balance this, they can only have one enchantment (enchanted weapons can normally have up to 3) and would do less base damage than a diamond sword.
Also I think it would make sense for Dryads to protect certain groves, rather than the trees themselves actually turning into a mob. Liiike... a certain tree could have unusual textures or particles coming off it denoting it as a protected tree. When you break one of its blocks or set to fire to it, a Dryad spawns nearby and attacks you.
Ya! that sounds like a cool idea! Dryads or ents do sound better. Going to add a section in my post on staff making and enchanting.
Ah dude you went overboard with the staffs thing. People don't like it when a bunch of blocks get added just to support one addition. So, adding staffs would be ok, but adding a forge just to make staffs work? Nah. Keep it simple.
I geuss your right XD, i got nothing better to do though.
