ok, before you all go raging about how OP this is, listen to me.
this isn't the usual 'xp-in-a-jar' idea, but you actually have to work for it and gives a use to diamond and gold block.
you can probably already guess what the idea is by now, and for those who dont,
Store EXP in diamond and gold blocks!
yes, you heard me. you can now put exp in gold and diamond blocks.
how would you do that you ask? well, you simply plop a diamond or gold block in an enchanting table, and then you can put exp in it.
that would be 10 levels for a gold block, and 20 for a diamond block. you can only store the levels if you have enough, so no 15 levels enchantments.
this way, you would be able to keep your levels when dying and still not be overpowered.
of course, the blocks would not be un-craftable in enchanted form, and to regain the levels, just put it in the enchanting table again and you'll instantly regain them.
i think this is a good idea and am curious to hear your suggestions.
Mmmh I don't get it why someone want to store exp, it just makes the game even more easier and the only benifit is that you don't loose the exp when you die.
But the idea of putting exp into a diamond or gold is nice. Somehow that would be a nice way to mabe do magic. So if you enchant a diamond you get magic spells on it which you can use :tongue.gif:, like lightning, heal, fireball or block magic creating one earth block. And you would have a specific count on how often you can use it ... something like that XD.
storing exp means its save if you die, and storing it in diamonds means you will have to work for it, but i dont think the magic is a good idea.
I like the idea if being able to actively save your levels... but I'm not too keen on using diamond or gold.
Since we already have the item "bottle 'o enchanting" perhaps it would be better to apply your idea to empty bottles. Putting an empty bottle into the enchanting table could produce the bottle 'o enchanting with your current exp total (up to a limit) such as 10 or so.
The mechanic for recovering exp from bottles is already implemented (throw it and collect the orbs).
Doing it this way would be easier to implement, since all that is needed is to update the enchanting table to be able to dump exp into the existing bottle 'o enchanting item. wouldn't have to update any other items in the process.

yeah, but people would start whining about it being easy if it would use bottles, si thought this.

yes, but ithink iron might be a bit to common for it, and storing 5 levels (thats what it would be logically) seems a bit useless to me.
