First, there would be more than one kind of NPC. Some would be hostile, some giving, some nuetral, etc. Some types are
~Updateded villagers
-Names that work with their career or class.
-Actually doing jobs (farmers plant and harvest, butchers kill pigs, etc.)
-More classes (warriors that fight zombies, hostile NPCs, and players that are mean, Bankers that other villagers give stuff for them to store it.)
-More reaction to player (player gives them items= they give stuff in return. Player attacks them or steal from town chests= they might attack you. etc.)
-Rather than simply running away, villagers would flee to the nearest building and shut the door when under zombie attack.
~Pigmen
-Like zombie Pigmen, but alive.
-Like villagers in behavior
-Live in more complex villages with bigger buildings.
-Will turn hostile towards the player if the player is seen attacking a pig or carrying pork.
-Will drop Pork when dead
-Tougher soldiers
~Goblins
-Fewer classes, just different kinds of warriors and a butcher.
-Warrior types include scouts (less health,low damage, sprint away when spotted by player, quiet, follow player to their base and steal stuff,)Soldiers (medium speed and health, medium attack,) etc.
- Very edgey about player at first, if you draw a sword they turn hostile. When given stuff and befriended, they will allow you to enter their village and will assist you in battle.
-The village looks more like a fort. Wood wall with ramp where archers run up in case of ZOMBIE SIEGE (more on that later.) The buildings are only the Butcher Shop, The Armory, and The Watchtower.
-Hostile Towards other NPCs, goblins included (the village will sometimes have a small fight on rare occasions.
~Dwarves.
-More classes like Miner, Prospector, and Blacksmiths make up the VAST majority of the village.
-These NPCs are a little harder to befriend. Each dwarve village has...
A smithy and A mine (small hut with deep going staircase in it.)
-When killed dwarves drop exclusive items like Mining Helmet (which will make it slightly easier to see in the dark when worn) and dwarven pick. Dwarves will also give you items like these as well as ore if befriended.
~For all NPCs
(for these features to exist villagers must respawn very slowly in villages, except those defeated in war.)
-Every 20 or so minecraft days, one night is a ZOMBIE SIEGE. Zombies will spawn much more freaquently (especially around villages) and will be slightly faster and tougher. Village guards will be on edge with swords and bows drawn. All peaceful NPCs will shuffle to the nearest building.
-Intervillage War.
When one village is tired of being atacked by another, they will declare WAR on another village. The warriors will meet in battle. The victorious village will ransack the other village in victory, while the remaining losers will flee in the wilderness to eventually die. Villages that are unsuccessful at defending themselves will lie as ruins forever. When a war happens, a phrase will pop up in chat bar saying "_______ village and _______ village are at war!" As soon as all warriors on one team are dead, a new line will pop up in the chat bar that says "_________ village is victorious!" Each village has a name. A sign at the village entrance will show the name.
Creating banners to support the idea is appreciated.
