Okay, in 1.2 you should be able to craft TNT with either sand or gravel. Because TNT is crafted with sand, gravels only use is for traps. Yeah, I know you get flint from gravel, but flint is going to be useless in 1.2 also, as Fireballs are going to be better to use for fire than Flint and Stell, plus, sekeletons already drop arrows. But if gravel is used for TNT sand's only use will be for traps. So you should be able to craft TNT with both sand and gravel. Gravel could be used instead of sand in the crafting bench. But the gunpowder will still be required. So this doesn't mean you dont have to kill creepers for TNT.
And do not talk about fireballs, it was a example, plus, you can go to the nether with just a water pool and a lava pool
If you disagree, you are probably just scared that your house will get blown up on a muliplayer server because of this
fireballs are hard to obtain, unlike flint and steel, sand is also used for glass, and using flint for arrows is alot easier than killing skeletons, since sometimes skeletons dont drop arrows...and you double posted, which isnt cool.
you need coal, gunpowder and blaze powder for 3 firecharges and they only have 1 use. that's not really easy to obtain.
But i agree, more uses for gravel would be cool.
jeb stated that he wants to add something that smelting gravel creates stone chunks, which create stone bricks when placed in a 2x2-sqare.
I don't think that it would be cool to be able to use gravel for TNT, it's good that TNT is as hard to get as it is in my opinion.
