Hello there, my friends. Now I bring you a new suggestion....Status Ailments! What is that, you might ask. Well, basically, if you are battling, say, a Zombie, if certain criteria are met, you will gain a Status Ailments. They generally are 1 minute long, but they can be helpful, or deadly. Down there you will see all the status ailments.
Burn
Description: Player is set on fire, takes damage randomly.
Aquired by: Being attacked by a Blaze(80%), Magma Cube(45%), or a Ghast(%20).
Dizzy
Description: Vision becomes blurry(Nether portal effect), Player moves randomly.
Aquired by: Taking an arrow over the head by a Skeleton(25%), or by other players(80% when pulled all the way). Also by being attacked by a Creeper(90%), Enderman(80%), Enderdragon(95%) or Wolf(60%).
Fury
Description: Vision flashes red randomly, Player alyways sprints, hunger decreases faster, Critical Hits alyways dealed, Player deals and recieves more damage.
Aquired by: Taking too much damage.
Poison
Description: Health bar turns yellow, Player takes damage randomly and moves at sneak speed.
Aquired by: Being attacked by a Spider(35%), Cave Spider(95%) or Zombie(5%).
Sick
Description: Player gets a runny nose, and takes damage randomly.
Aquired by: Being attacked by a Zombie(55%) or a Zombie Pigman(75%)
Cold
Description: A player will a little bit slower and the screen starts to look blue, the hunger bar decreases faster.
Aquired by: Taking damage from drowning (50%), diving[with bubbles] in frozen water in tundra biome (75%),or drowning in tundra biome (80%)

We had it all in 1.9 prerelease 3, then jeb removed half of them.
