Well,I have already seen mods with glass that has some different colors on it,but what if they put a way to tint glass in minecraft? And if so,I have some suggestions about some crafting things they could do.
1. Torches
blue tint glass + torch = torch with blue light
red tint glass + torch = torch with red light
I think you get the picture, but does anyone else have some suggestions for tinted glass craftable things?
I think the tinted glass should be added to minecraft,or at least put into a mod : /
There are so many suggestions about this, I've stopped taking it seriously. There isn't any real reason for putting in items that make things red or blue, nothing vanilla needs anyway. People could do something like make a functioning piano, or a movie theater (both done before) and what these threads ask for is "Can you make the light turn red?"

Eh, I don't see the need to hate on it. If people want to be able to simply have colored lights without downloading mods, then they should be able to ask for it. Sure I could say that there isn't a real reason to make a piano(But there is, and that is to be cool as hell.), and why should people devote their time to doing that, but I won't, because it's fine by me, just like how it's fine if a lot of people want colored glass.

How about spotlights that make a colored light shoot into the sky and make it so you can find your way home.
You would probably counter it with the argument of maps already do this :dry.gif:

I just see so many about it. I've looked at the mods and I haven't seen the appeal, it's like "Yay, now my tower is red...Peh, bored. Build new redstone trap now."

They do. Or, like I do personally to not use maps, construct towers topped with glowstone at the top level of the map. At night, it glows, and in the day, you can see the tower. I've even built one to work like a lighthouse and spin. Was rather loud at night, however, with the pistons.

It's just a simple suggestion for aesthetics that would make a lot of people happy. I don't see a reason not to add this. I'm assuming it's easy to code too.

Not sure about coding, but it could look pretty if used right.
I'm guessing that like most things, the colour of light is defined with a hex number. So I believe that adding insomething like this should be as simple as adding a new entity that gives off light with the hex number #388E8E (skyblue) instead of #FFA500 (orange). :/
The problem is that they would have too create new light entities for each color.
( I think I used the right term.)
Well ACTUALLY the problem is ideas. The Devlopers can add any new items they want I'm sure it's very simple actually, the problem is the fact that everyone has a "great idea" the developers have to sift through them and find the ones that might be a good addition to minecraft that both make sense and compliment the game.
But having things like coloured lighting makes sense especially for people who build large scale projects and wish to try out new lighting ideas.

Wool and dyes?
Smooth stone and cobble?
Bookshelfs?
Glass panes?
We didn't "need' the above stuff, and we don't don't "Need" this..
But, I have support for colored glass at the least.
Its all aesthetics Neo,
First and foremost, this is a game about architecture
I disagree with you on this one,
Can you imagine a underwater palace, lit with Blues and green light?
Or a evil temple with Dark foreboding reds and greys!!
Colored light would add a Hell of a lot of architecture design, and You know it.
A temple with a holy shaft of white light, flowing in though a window.
A light house that gives off diffrent colors to alert different times of day!

I'm pretty sure it would be really easy, they already have models for torches so they'd just had to change the lighting color or something..

And in the words of many forumers,
You don't "need" to use them.
