I recently saw a thread about there not being enough uses for gold, so i would like to fix that.
1: Gold-tipped arrows.
These arrows would be created from putting gold dust on top of arrows. Gold dust would be obtainable from putting gold nuggets in the crafting box, which would give you 12 gold dusts.
You could also find it floating in rivers randomly. If you fire this arrow at a nether mob it will do double damage and catch it on "blue fire" for 3 seconds, which does half the damage of red fire but would do regular damage to terrestrial mobs(spiders, zombies, etc). If shot at a wolf it will restore its hp, and if shot at 2 farm animals they will "make love" and do 0 damage
2: Alchemy (not potion making)
By putting 5 gold bars into a full cauldron (with water) it would eventually create 1 diamond. If you put 3 iron into a full cauldron, it would create one gold. You could also put different things in to make other things, like mycelium spores which when placed would make mycelium by putting mushroom stew and ink sacs into the cauldron
3: Golden wool
Golden wool would be created by surrounding a gold block with 4 wool. When placed nearby it will slowly restore hp. When in healing range it will glow with a brightness of 8. When mobs come near this they will burn blue, and frighten them away. This could be found in the portal room of strongholds, and very rarely in the chests of abandoned mine shafts

A hunter who chases two rabbits will catch neither
Arrows: No, I'd say just tip it with a gold nugget. It makes more sense.
Brewing: How the heck do 5 gold bars make 1 diamond? Overpowered.
Gold Wool: Healing? What? It's gold wool for gosh sakes. It should just have the brightness of a torch, and be like one of those items that have practically no use, but are fun to show off. Kinda like a "Labis Lazuli Block".
no offence but these ideas arent that good. but i do agree that there should be more uses for gold. why not jewelery and stuff like that? like to make a ring you make a clock except without the redstone and if you wanted to you could add a diamond, or you could make a chain. that would basically be used to say: lol im rich, i has jewelery.:smile.gif: also you should be able to give npc villagers gold by right clicking them. doing this would get them to trade things with you depending on how much gold you give them.

So since it takes 3 iron to make 1 gold, and 5 gold to make 1 diamond, that means I could make 1 diamond out of 15 iron? If I could make diamonds out of 15 iron, let's just say that I'd have diamonds pouring out of my ass.
The only new (good) uses I can see for gold are stairs, slabs, doors, bars, and maybe trapdoors. And gold tools could use some sort of buff.
If I helped in any way, don't click that little green +, instead tell me how much you liked the post. (Only those who are incapable of earning rep the hard way have to beg for it in their signatures).

I wanted to make a thread on jewelry what could be enchanted to supply special buffs (bone necklace enchanted to increase damage by 1/2 heart, let's say) but I never got around to it. Maybe I should sometime soon.

You can't make metre cubed pieces of rock get jiggy with each other, that's just WRONG.

The others are terrible, I have a thread that no one pays any attension too about a major use in potion making, using a cauldron.

Try to keep minecraft a "SANDBOX" game, not RPG.

Greek myths, not justifying this.
