Okay so I'm sure this has been suggested before but I just love hearing new ideas and concepts! So, Here's the deal: Mojang adds Campaign Mode! In campaign mode there are more advanced NPCs than the stupid ones in NPC Villages. They have the same body shape as players and can navigate through a course with half a brain. Then, make it so they cant talk in the chat box in single player. Let them give you tasks to do! Lets make them able to build they're own houses! Maybe some could live alone in the wilderness while others can live in cities! I am aware that it would require a fair amount of coding and skill, but I think the team at Mojang can do it! Anyway, Suggest your ideas and give some CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM don't just comment and go "This is ****. I hate it. Your a noob." Your allowed to hate it just tell me why! Reply and Press the little green (+) At the bottom right! Thanks! :smile.gif:

Myself and many others prefer the "completely aimless" feeling of the game. It's what sets Minecraft apart, really. A half-assed story mode would do this game no justice.
And really, the point of playing Minecraft is that there is no point of playing Minecraft. If I wanted to shoot the hell out of people, for example, I would go play Team Fortress 2 or some other shooter. If I wanted to command armies, I would play Dawn of War or Command and Conquer. If I wanted to get immersed into some awesome story, I would play some RPG or whatever type of game. If I wanted to do whatever the hell I wanted to whenever the hell I wanted to, I would play Minecraft.
There are tons of games out there that provide immersive stories, and those games will always do that better than Minecraft ever could.
If I helped in any way, don't click that little green +, instead tell me how much you liked the post. (Only those who are incapable of earning rep the hard way have to beg for it in their signatures).
I like in Minecraft that every player can imagine his/her own story. Adding a lore, even in a separate mode, would ruin that feel and it would overall be a lesser quality game.
I say, leave the story modes to games of different genres, and leave the aimless thing to Minecraft.

I Can see your point, that's why I suggested it as a game mode meaning it is optional for those players who would like to play it.

To quote my above post that you didn't read:

Not really. Survival mode has so much to do already, and with a group of friends on a server you can generate anything you want as a "campaign" mode without any need for technological or in-game restraints.
Why "add something new" to the game if it was already there to begin with?

jk.
I personally dislike the idea, although you may have something on the whole "new mode" thing.
I think it might work.
Maybe.
These... Are the comments I like to see... For you:

It doesn't matter if it's a separate mode.
