Have you ever played Half-Life? I think the AI should be more similar to the guards' AI rather than the kinds you've suggested if they were to go into combat.
And the thing about arrows not hurting you...? Doesn't seem that realistic, most NPCs can FF in a good number of games (Even in TFC, you can minge about with your 'nades) and overall it just doesn't seem to make sense. Maybe lower damage arrows?
The Alchemist idea just isn't that well thought out, this isn't damned "RUNESCAPE" (Or Run, Escape!) and we can't summon familiars even if we talk to that old ******* in the house to get a rabbit out of his home.
The idea of giving them picks, shovels, and axes seems a bit too far. You can't exactly DIRECT an NPC what to do, as it doesn't think about the situation. Sort of like in CS:S, when the hostages just stand in your way for human shields... Also, in the event that they encounter gravel in their "digging" with pickaxes? Certainly there isn't an NPC stalking that one to keep up with it. What if it runs out of durability?
The Glass Bottle idea sounds too much like selling Poe Souls in the Ocarina of time. And once a villager dies, I really doubt anybody will pull a Dragon Quest just so they can have another NPC follow them aimlessly. I personally think you should get everything they had and their bones.

No support.
You know I really wouldn't have minded your post if you would've actually posted something helpful. DOn't just tank this thread unless you have some suggestion to help. ;D
I like this, except for a) the ability to resurrect them, there are enough villagers without being able to bring them back to life and :cool.gif: to hire them you should give them a gold ingot and then the item because if you just give them the item it's waaaay too easy to build a massive army.

You ask for support. I supported by pointing out all of the flaws and reason it can't be in.
As well, it's free game. Think of the MC forums as hunting and all of the posters as hunters. Anybody can do WHATEVER they want to the threads, because it's their opinion, which I mostly respect. Because of your inability to accept rejection, I'll restate the issues in your topic.
The Villager AI that you posted seems to be rather flawed, as Miner might run into a dirt layer, and there isn't a shoveler to follow.
Ressurection is dumb and seems too much like the LOZ selling of souls.
I also suggested an alternative instead of "resurrection", so therefore, I posted 2 things helpful.
Okay I see your point and all. Thanks for some suggestions for help. I am able to accept rejecton just fine I don't really care what others think but I don't need someone not even giving anything posotive.
More feedback please. Room for improvement!

And I still don't support.
