This seems pointless. Have you tried to measure Minecraft? It's about a good times larger than earth.
So, naturally, on Earth, when ONE side of the earth has winter, the opposing side has summer. The world in Minecraft is totally flat (Unless Christopher Columbus comes along) and therefore, cannot have logical seasons.
Plus, even if it wasn't flat, how do you intend to explain the world overlapping eachother...?

You don't mess with dragons, or you might find yourself barbecued. Lightly toasted if you are lucky.

Who said it has to be logical? The whole map can be on the same season, but the seasons change.

Since when is anything in minecraft logical? We have obsidian one of the strongest substances, magical floating blocks, and exploding green guys. Who cares if seasons doesnt make sense? I support.
If you consider a season as an in game month and it gave you the option to allow seasons upon world creation it would add a lot of depth to the game. Since it would be optional and only available to new worlds, it wouldn't affect anyone who doesn't want to deal with snow appearing in other biomes. It would be nice to allow you to choose which season to start your world in.
It could be a whole new experience. Flowers could spread slowly during springtime, and mob ai could also change in new and interesting ways. Winter mode could make weapons more brittle and have less uses during this time. During autumn the color of the trees change different colors, and during summer it's like standard Minecraft.

Snow would need to melt periodically though.
It would make a nice mod at least.
