Everyone by now is sorta familiar with the book suggestion that players can make customizable books, similar to The Elder Scroll's books, and place them on tables or whatever for people to read. However, I think that the bookshelves in Strongholds and Villages should have some books in them, maybe one book per shelf. You right click the shelf block, and a book GUI pops up or something. Then, you can read the book. If they did this, what do you think some of the books should be about?
My ideas were be something like a history or collection of background information about the Villagers. While this may take some of the mystery away from them, another option would be to have books of legends and lore from the past or something nerdy like that. Possibly some riddles? Guidebooks on how to perform certain things in Minecraft (Like a manual to building a house that can keep monsters out successfully, or tips on gathering Flint.). However, I think a great idea would be something along the lines of a book about ancient, lost cities that have been since claimed by the earth (Strongholds.). Maybe a book about Endermen, and the End? Hell, even if Mojang didn't have time to write the books themselves, I'm sure plenty of people would love to take up the job, myself included.
First of all, they are not "melon-headed beakmen". I prefer to think of them as "testiclefaces". Secondly, instead of history and crafting recipes, instead it would be a haunting journal about what happened to the previous occupants.
"Day 5: We have taken the whole crew to the End, to fight the dragon. We should be back in about a day."

"That was the last entry."
The haunting journal could be another book option for at Strongholds! At villages, there could be books about lost cities, and at Strongholds, books about an expeditionary team studying The End.
Also, your avatar is from The Great Butter Battle, a book about the Cold War.
No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...

*nods in agreement*
You'd think they'd do that already, but yeah... Love the idea :biggrin.gif:
I'm no longer active here since no one else seems to be.
Thanks. I've been wanting this for a while, to have some sort of shred of history and culture behind these melon-headed beakmen.
