With the new world stuff recently (swamps, jungles) and people suggesting stuff like "less caves", "old world generation" etc. I just remembered Fortresscraft (please don't hate)
You can select a few world options when creating a world. You can select cave amount, flatland, water etc.
For Minecraft my idea that is similar to Fortresscraft will be for those who like nostalgia or those who hate new stuff messing up their world biomes (happened on my server with 1.0.0 release, swamp cut straight through main city)
Basically people will choose some things for their world like caves and the such. It could be through a slider or through options (like little, many, some)
The buttons or sliders would have to be put into sub-menus regarding their category due to space obviously.
Here are some that should be implemented first (in no particular order)
World Generator
Yes, there is a mod for this. However not everybody likes to use mods.
Basically it is an option button and it titles the generators by which version of Minecraft it was first used in. For example there would be Indev generator, Alpha 1.2, Beta 1.8 etc. I just chose those randomly if you're wondering. This is mainly for those who like the older versions. The one drawback to this is that even though this prevents your current world from being messed up it also requires you to make a new world for new world features.
World Height
It was brought up in a post I saw that Jeb is adding taller worlds. There IS a mod for this that also allows for taller world generation (deeper caves, taller mountains etc.)
Of course Jeb can't change the world generation like that.
My idea is that there is also a slider for this. You can even have a shorter world and it would generate smaller mountains and such. I'm sure people would love taller, more epic mountains.
The drawback is that for taller mountains you would have to create a new world of course.
Biomes
I'm not sure if people still complain but some people I remember hated swamp biomes. This would have its own sub-menu as it would have a checklist of the biomes you want generated. That way you can have a swamp free world or force a desert only world for those survivalists.
Cave Amount
I for one find the cave amount very large. In fact I saw a post complaining about it. My idea is that a slider would be made for this. 100% would be default cave amount. You could set it to 200% (max?) for double the caves!!! Great fun!!! Of course you could have no caves at 0%.
Civilisation
Essentially this slider would indicate the amount of buildings such as strongholds, villages, Nether Fortresses, Dungeons and the such. While some may find this over powered, it might not be as this is a choice that can not be changed. This is mainly because some things are too rare while some are too common sometimes.
Far Lands
The Far Lands were accidentally removed. Perhaps if you liked the idea of them you can have them back with this Yes or No option.

This is a signature. There should be something here....

Everypony is awesome!
Perhaps then he could add it in one bit at a time. I think the flat land is a start but I can't be too sure.
