I'n sure i came by some flooded caves before, tho usely when i see big pool of water in a cave, i don't even bother looking into it because can't see anything :blink.gif:
I'm not talking about caves that are half-flooded, I'm talking about fully-flooded caves.
Underwater lighting and underwater hostiles are essential for this.
Since wandering around with almost no light, and nothing to fight, would be more of a hindrance than something nice.
Flooded caves are a nice idea but they need to be more than just caves filled with water.
Yes.
There should be piranhas.
And lighting should decrease less harsher. Perhaps if it the lighting remains the same for 15 water blocks and, after those 15 bocks it decreases by 1 for each block?
And maybe there should be more ores on flooded caves, to encourage their exploration.
As far as the darkness problem.... Bioluminescent coral that can't be replaced, not unlike desert shrubs? Not necessarily realistic, but not all useful game mechanics are.

This has been suggested before, mainly in the suggestion for a cave overhaul. Please search before creating entirely new threads, since I know for a fact that there are at least 4 threads with this idea in them (my own included).
That said, this IS a good idea. While caves are pretty awesome with the abandoned mines and all, they could use some more development. And since it looks like Jeb is thinking about increasing map height, caves would have more room to actually occupy.

It would be hella fun to explore (totally) flooded caves, finding ores and trying to find some air.
It would add purposes to respiration and aqua affinity enchantments.
Perhaps if each cave had a 1/5 chance to be flooded?

Solution, go to 1.7.3, travel to Far Lands, dispel entities, enjoy

Yes. But there should be also a water breathing potion.
Also, imagine flooded mineshafts... They would be awesome!
We can have both.
You can always use jack-o-lanterns...
or....just glowstone y u need "glowstone tourches"?
1. Jeb would have to change the water physics to finate AGAIN (Water was Finate at Indev)
2. Or a World generation OVERHAUL
And both will require new worlds to be made like 1.8, 1.9 and when it realese 1.2
It would require Minecrafts World Generation to be done all over
I think its better off as a mod
Why it needs finite water? :huh.gif:
