Most of you say that the end was rubbish/easy/etc. But I think i have a small solution. What if we had mini bosses, that have different components to create an end world portal? Say about 3 bosses have different parts to assemble an end portal. Since Getting to the end is as simple as finding a lot of ender pearls and tossing them around. Getting to the end portal is a bit difficult if you lack resources, but with a different and harder way to get to the end might make it more interesting and give you the "accomplished" feel.
Types of bosses:
1. Over-world boss
Basically a simple generic cliched environmental boss. Has elements of ice, fire, nature, etc.
OR
each environmental mini-boss one for snow, desert, woods, etc.
2. Nether Boss
Basically something out of a Rob Zombie horror flick, but blocky :3
I picture it as a winged, red skinned, hoof legged, horned, yellow glowy eyed, type of monster. Sounds cliched right?
3. Dungeon Boss
An undead being, his boss room is an old, dusty, mossy throne room crypt type of thing.
He's kinda like a master draugr from skyrim. His underground castle is full of zombie guards, and the dungeon boss has gold armor.
He's the reason WHY you find dungeons around because they used to be his campsites.
4. Mining Boss
A giant drill vehicle steampunk thingy. Found in the grand mineshaft, his room is plentiful in ores but your gonna have to get rid of him first!
5. Ante-Up the end!
Basically make it more of a final level type of thing. Say you start at the bottom of a hill, and atop the hill would be an obsidian castle, in the castle is a bunch of enderman n stuff, but theres one room at the very top, which would be like a tower. It is the dark knight! A dark fearsome knight in obsidian armor! When you defeat him in his room (a 1v1 swordfight) he runs away and gets to his dragon mount! So you're on top of his tower and your fighting a dragon, although there should be alot of loot in the castle to help you proceed!
Each boss would have something to help you to get to the other boss, like a map/guide/compass or something.
But each bossroom would give you loads of loot to help you fight other bosses of course.
Dude, this is Minecraft, not World of Warcraft. This reminds me of those old weird fantasy games for gamecube. Please don't petition to turn Minecraft into Super Mario.

Well, for one, this is far too complicated for it to be in the actual Minecraft. These would make a really neat mod though.
Here's my opinions on what you said.
1. Again, too complicated.
2. Getting to the End is already very hard if you're on Easy/Normal/Hard Mode the whole time and never on Peaceful.
3. You mentioned about four things that have their own unique structure. Wouldn't it be INSANELY hard to find those bosses if there's just one place they're in?
4. I still think that if there were to be mini bosses, they would need to drop really cool unique items instead of stuff to get to the Enderdragon, a crappy boss that doesn't give you anything besides experience (at this point).
All-in-all, I like the idea, but there's still a lot of flaws to it.

Well, they would give you loot of course, they're structures would contain A LOT of useful tools to aid you into getting to the other boss, maybe a boss compass thing?

As others have said, the complaint is not that it is too easy to get to the End - in fact it can take quite a long time even if that's your only goal in Minecraft. The problem mostly is that - in being an entirely separate realm and all - the End simply doesn't have much to offer except that battle against the Enderdragon, which to be frank is pretty easy once you focus down the Healers.
Aside from that, your boss suggestions are just...well, they're complete ****, to be entirely honest. For the most part you're just too vague, but the End boss idea is complete **** with that dark knight. Your ideas are too vague and too cliched. And overall, they hardly add anything. Getting to that final battle is perfectly okay, imho. It's the battle itself that needs work.

That's it for now, let me know what you think!
Glad you think so :3
