This game really needs Ghosts and Vampires, they would be perfect for Minecraft, the first time i thought about a Vampire mob onetime when i was watching some zombies and skeletons burn in the sunlight. And i thought of a ghost mob a long time ago back in the beta days when i heard some ghostly noises in a cavern and while i was making a graveyard.
Vampires would do 2 hearts more of damage then zombies, skeletons, and other undead mobs. They would also turn into dark mist particles just as he sun rises or burn in the sunlight. They would also have a faster running speed then other undead mobs, and they could only be killed with enchanted weapons or a gold sword or higher.
Ghosts would do 2 and half hearts more of damage then other undead mobs. They would also stay for a very short while in sunlight then disappear and they could also spawn in abandoned mineshafts and at night and they spawn in other biomes in the day yet that would be very rare. They would have the same speed as vampires and they would almost be invisible and be immune to fire damage of course. They also could only be killed with gold or higher or enchanted weapons, so Ghosts would be a good challenging mob in this game.
Mo'creatures mod has so many creatures in it, its almost impossible to come up with npc ideas that are not already in it, but that doesn't mean they can't be added, I hear horses are being added.
I think ghosts should do no damage and instead make the player move 50% slower while they are next to the player,
maybe even make the food bar decrease faster as they attack your mind and can only be killed with enchanted weapons.
vampires seem okay, rare hopefully and only show up in strongholds were they hide out. Dont care much for the mist idea though seems overly complicated, they could drop vampire dust which could be used in potions or enchants though.

But ghasts are more like nether demons.
