Simple little suggestion I noticed wasn't already implemented in-game upon losing lots of my progress. In windowed play while the player is in a world. Exiting out of the program should prompt an "Are you sure?" feature. It made me very angry yesterday how that did not exist.
The game automatically saves every second which you are in the world. This means that if you are running around somewhere and it crashes, most of the time you will be exactly where you were the moment of the crash (sometimes there are issues with this, such as spawning inside of blocks and suffocating).

wtf?! do you just panic and alt+F4 or something? aside from the fact that it DOES autosave and even if you spontaneously close it you progress should be saved, you could also simply pause the game (forcing it to save) or click "Save and Exit".
