I was playing in Indev, until I wanted to have the 'Woods' map theme as a biome.
Basically, it is a real dense forest with trees spawning on all available land. The weather is constantly overcast, and thunderstorms alyways replace rain in this biome. Because of this, hostile mobs may be able to spawn in daylight.
If possible, the sun would appear with a slight yellow border around it. The sky would be a dark turquoise color, and the clouds would be light gray. Sunlight would give a light level of 11 in this biome.
Grass and leaf colors would be the same from Indev and early Alpha. This would remind of the old times.
Since we're starting to have biome specific mobs (Ocelots) then perhaps squirrels or some other mob could live in the woods.
Yeah, this could work.
But remember the woods will be constantly overcast, so mobs that are from a sunny location won't fit in the Woods.New idea: Zombies and Skeletons in this new biome would only burn when the sky were to be at 30 degrees or higher instead of 15. This is because sunlight comes weaker in this biome due of the constant overcast weather blocking most sunlight.
God, my threads go to the ass of the forums(last pages) in SECONDS. I have to stay ALL THE TIME bumping it so it keeps on the 1st page, then later I get banned!
I REALLY don't want another tree biome anytime soon. I'm OK with the idea of tightly-packed trees that block out the sun and all that fun stuff, but we need some other biomes first. Like a volcanic/lava-themed island biome.
But the idea itself is nice. I'm just saying that it'd be in bad taste to put it in after the last two biomes have been basically tree-based . . . sorta.

Lol. I bump my topics by talking too.
Anyways, don't woods already exist?
BTW, you can thank me for bumping this. LOL

This biome could also spawn as islands.
Then you will like this biome, as no wolves, squids, Endermen, Spider Jockey, Stronghold, Abandoned Mineshaft and Ravines spawn in this biome.
I think Woods is a better fitting name. Thanks for liking.
...Forever alone.
I feel you, man.
But your idea is so epic, yet simple. :smile.gif:
Thanks man :smile.gif:
