When grass is on the ground, sheep eat it to regain wool(already a feature)
Based on this, I conclude other animals should have this mechanic.
-When cows see a wheat stalk, they destroy it to regain milk(consume it).
-When chickens see seed item on the ground, they eat it and an egg will pop out.
There would obviously be recharge on these but it would apply sheep mechanic to other animals. What do you guys think?
Some say chickens are op because they just pop out a field of eggs and it becomes an exponential farm in no time, this way would balance chickens.
Well, I agree with everything except for the seed - chickens idea. If every time a chicken was fed a seed, then chickens would have a kajillion eggs. How about there was a cool down, where feeding seeds gives chickens the ability to lay eggs, but not immediately.

I've never seen anyone say that. If anything, this idea makes them overpowered itself; currently, chickens randomly pop eggs every 5–10 minutes. And since items despawn when you aren't looking, this makes anything less than a full-scale farm with over 50 chickens or whatever very inefficient for egg-gathering. Furthermore, chickens only have a 1/50 chance of spawning from an egg. Meaning that it's still not that easy to get them around in the first place.

farming skeletons ie Live-Action Grave-Robbing is a much quicker way to get arrows then actually making them.
The Mob Farm is still one of the most ingenius inventions created within the game world.

I don't make mob farms and the game isn't balanced around mob farms. Also, I do both, I make arrows and collect them. If I do both, I can shoot even more arrows, they still run out quick though if you only depend on your bow.
There would be a cooldown but if you have lots of seeds and chickens then you can make many eggs quick, quicker then regular. It's balanced because you need a wheat farm or some seed source to collect them first, then again, seeds are really easy to get so it might actually make chickens more op.

Yeah, we need feathers for arrows, so...Yeah
PLUS, more farm stuff is cool :biggrin.gif:

I did mention the cooldown. lol
@ specter: It's 1/8 chance, not 1/50.
