You know, What would be nice is a way to harness electrical power.
Creating cables with varying length's for distributing power to any working devices or simply contraptions. Not to be a upgrade or such. But another way to get power going around, Like redstone.
Another is the Engine, Nothing high tech but maybe some reminisce of the 50's modern engine or lower. Some kind of engine when fuel, will produce power to anything hooked up to cables. course its one thing mobs attacks cause of its noise. And making a fuel source is a pain.
Which leads to-- Corn.
Would be nice to have more variety in farming. Like growing potatoes, Corn, Carrots. Etc.
When growing, harvesting and squeezing the corn once it has matured, can be made into corn oil. Which can be one of maybe few ways to fuel a Engine.
With Powered contraptions make Redstone compliment each other, seeing we cannot make redstone go up walls. this could open up new possibilities.
Like creating Lamp poles and lamps, both electronic and Fuel powered.
Lamp poles come with either a lamp built into it that runs off electricity, Or a common wood pole to hang a fuel powered Lamp onto. to freely remove or place, ignite or turn the light out through manual means.
Lightning Rods - Power generated to it, will cause electrical power to surge through it. Alone by itself will zap anything at random close to it. With another nearby creates a electrical arc that will jump from one Rod to another. There by creating a exposed, safe conduit to pass under or over. Also, introducing Elemental stones, one of which when hooked into a pedestal thats been cabled to a Lightning rod and struck with thunder, will produce a Stone of Thunder, which could probably have few or many uses. The unique stones can gain other properties through various means.
Last, What would be nice that, not only could Weapons and armor being enchanted. Armor had "Slots".
Ive been playing Monster hunter Tri lately and its been making thinking. "Well this is a form of upgrading, what it be like if it were on Minecraft. but not as powerful buffs. Someway to create a sort of "Gem" which can increase perhaps the ability to crit at random, stronger attacks, maybe jump higher, 1, 2, or 3 slots of more open inventory space, Can float slowly to the ground or run faster." Except slots are set for some Armor so players dont go crazy like Invincibility was on. These Gems and slots would add Unique natural abilities to play who take the time to make these gems and customize their armor. They provide half of the true power of Enchanting, but they open up new things you cant get through enchanting. Enchanting gives ya the power, Gems offer the skills and natural strengths.
Example: I have a diamond armor with a total of 4 slots, i need 4 slots to create unique Gems i can piece into the armor that say:
1). slow down my hunger rate, so it'll take slightly longer till i have to eat again
2). Slow fall by holding down the jump button
3). Maybe increase my chances to cause a mob to drop something they normally wouldnt.
4). Jump higher. comes in High Jump and High Jump+. H.J. allows me to jump about one block higher. H.J.+ lets me jump a block and a half higher.
5). Run faster, there by letting me get around quicker.
6). Make enemies visible in low light settings only when they are within a short range of me. Otherwise their still difficult to see from further out.
7). Evading - I may move faster when blocking or have my bow & Arrow drawn and armed.
I admit, I didn't read all of it.
BUT the first part (about electricity) I can safely say is far too modern for Minecraft. People need to get it into their heads that Minecraft is not and will never be a modern-themed game. It is closer to medieval.
For the gem slotting part, isn't that just a way of having multiple, nonsensical enchantments on armour? The enchantments we have now make sense for what type of armour it's put on, but having armour that makes you take longer to get hungry doesn't make any sense.
