Joat actually mentioned this as sort of an off-hand suggestion (it was at the bottom of his assembled suggestion list, under "Other") but I couldn't find any further mention of this in the suggestion sub forum. Is this possible? The core would probably still need to be lava-adminium - it just wouldn't do to have someone digging down come popping out of the other side feet first. It doesn't even necessarily have to be done physically. Walking off the north end could leave you at the south end of a standard map. Could the infinite water plane be changed to represent the opposite end of the map? There would need to be some curvature, otherwise you'd just look infinitely forward at yourself looking infinitely forward.
This makes me think about the days The Planetary Server used to exist. It was a map consisting of so many planets, moons, and celestial objects, and follows this idea similarly.

It actually doesn't follow this idea in any way, other than the fact that planets are involved.

I imaginated two ways of doing this.
First would be to make a sphere of blocks with the core first sugested by Wolfram, and to each 45º to each side you char would rotate 90º.
the other way would be a flat map that wrap around himself.
After that would be used some kinda of render distortion to make the flat plane to look like a planet.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Relic of a bygone age.
anyway, i totally aprove this ideia, i think it would be really fun.

As long as the developer implements a way to enable you to do it through Lua. Which he wont, from the mouth of the horse.
Yes, I have. Lost the map a long time ago though.

(not really sure if this is possible)
