Hey everyone,
I was giving it a thought, and my heart skipped a beat. What if notch would add hydration to minecraft? It would make minecraft from a fun video game, to a heck of a chore. It would make survival crazy annoying, and hard to survive. But it would make the game more realistic. I know if Notch, or Jeb added a hydration bar I would be playing creative a lot more! I just want to know what you guys think about it. I think the food bar is enough, and the hydration bar would be an overkill in challenge. Leave your opinion in the comments.

I nearly completely agree with you on this. This could be the reason they added the desert "Wells" in the new snapshot. If they did this, they might have to create a "Softcore" gametype with hydration, warmth, etc.

Anyways, I am kinda netural with this idea. But as FadeStone was meening, there are already too many bars already. Soon our whole view will be covered in freakin' bars and we won't be able to see a thing!

Too many bars. Also, I don't think notch will, Jeb might but not notch.

Open your minds, guys. "Too many bars"? Make the food\hydration bars hidden, and only appear when you pass the cursor over an icon. Of course the rate the bar decreases would be proportional to the difficulty selected by the user.

Hunger is bad enough. that would just give us another thing that we have to pay attention to in survival. Hunger sorta annoys me in survival and I don't like Peaceful. Just my 9001 cents.

I had a list of about 20 things that'd make Minecraft "more realistic", and could even potentially be fairly balanced, as a response to another thread about this exact same thing. It got my point (yes, it'd make it more realistic, and it could even work, but a lot of things that would bring a lot more pleasure per amount of coding time it'd take, because if you're going to add hydration, you might as well add the other 19 things, because they're just as reasonable) across pretty well.
Unfortunately, I'm entirely too lazy to go find the post or think up the list again.
