Okay, so we've all killed tons of random mobs. Spiders, Skeletons, Zombies, even Blazes! But, what if they got stronger over time, like adapting to their environment? Spawner or not, they'd get better. However, if you've killed 50 creepers, you don't want one breaking your Cobblestone bunker in half with an explosion, do you? So, all mobs would have different growth rates. More on possible growth later.
Zombie: 4 (these are multipliers)
Skeleton: 7
Creeper: 2 (nerfed so you'd have to kill tons)
Spider: 10
Endermen: 3 (again, nerfed)
Zombie Pigman: 6
Ghast: 15 (more on its great stat later)
Blaze: 4
Slime: 1
Magma Cube: 1
Cave Spider: 8
Possible growth -
Okay, so what can they get? Just some minor examples:
Zombie: Armor, swords, better AI, better drops
Skeleton: Faster reload, better drops
Creeper: bigger explosions, more health, more gunpowder
Spider: greater speed, helmet, more string
Endermen: more logical teleporting, armor, more Ender Pearls
Zombie Pigmen: gold armor, greater speed, better AI
Ghast: better range, better drops (possibly something called the Ghast Orb)
Blaze: better range, spawning normally, blaze rods & powder
Slime: slime drops at all sizes, more sizes, height spawn change
Magma Cube: appear in Overworld, more sizes
Cave Spider: spawn normally, helmet, more string
Of course, some of these could take a while to be gained, but nonphysical ones could appear earlier. Mob grinders do not affect this at all.

I was thinking of something like this too, hostile mobs getting stronger over many nights in various ways (speed, AI, damage, etc.) It would be wonderful to see some sort of addition like this in the future, so challenge still thrives while you are in a anti-mob built area and wearing diamond armor.

DooM is like crack, but better for you.
It's gradual. Zombies don't grow diamond armor and shotguns overnight, you know. (I'm lying about the shotgun, btw)
